Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 18, 2026May 18, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 UNDER THE ALTA (9) is suited in this grade and will be heading forward and be happy to be in the breeze and hard to hold out. MONEY WELL SPENT (1) has the draw to lead and will be cheeky in that role, form has been consistent. MAD PUNTA (2) creates interest and has a draw to be close enough. SHES A MARE (10) perfect draw and is building into the preparation nicely, could be dangerous late. CULLEN STAR (8) and MYSTA MOON WALKER (7) both capable types but face difficult draws. BUNJIL MAN (4) is a place hope, worth following this preparation. Tips: 9 10 1 2 Suggested Bet: UNDER THE ALTA (9) to win. Race 2 MANHATTAN RUBY (8) is a talented type on return, she was racing higher quality last preparation and looks suited here, versatile and should go well. LUCKY COPY (9) is more known for her high speed and looks a strong chance in this even from the wide draw. OUR SERAPHINA (3) is thereabouts and should be close enough from the draw. POPPYS LAST DANCE (1) a novelty chance from the pole to follow speed and other chances to ALFA JESS (2) and ELLEOFAREACTOR (6). Tips: 8 9 3 1 Suggested Bet: MANHATTAN RUBY (8) to win. Race 3 CAPTAIN SAID SO (9) returns and looks suited in this, can be put into the race whenever he likes and has good staying abilities. TRUE GRIT (3) was strong on Friday after making ground in a 27 last quarter, major player if he can get to the top. KOOJAN (11) was good on Friday night and did it at both ends, will be hard to hold out again, go well. ON THE BACK FOOT (1) is a novelty chance with IDEAL INTEREST (4), SHES A TINY DANCER (8) and BY ROYAL COMMAND (10). Tips: 9 11 3 1 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN SAID SO (9) to win. Race 4 CAPTAINS CREEK (5) has the draw advantage and can push his way to the top and is a bold front runner, looks hard to beat from that position. ITS MAA TIME (9) is highly talented but faces a challenging draw, she just had to do too much work in her most recent run in what was a shemozzle of a race. BEAUDIENE HUNTER (6) is a smart type, can be put into the race and will run a strong race but may have to do his fair share of work. LOU LAMOUR (1) is a novelty chance from the good draw, will lead early and likely to take cover. SISTER CHERIE (10) is a novelty chance from the draw with THE BETTOR SIDE (12) who is a better chaser. Tips: 5 6 9 1 Suggested Bet: CAPTAINS CREEK (5) to win. Race 5 MCGEE (3) trialled up well and has got form in Victoria including competing in the Great Southern Star against Keayang Zahara, hard to go against that form line and bolstered up by a trial win beating the pacers. ALDEBARAN BOYD (4) looks the main danger; he has won his last three and won’t be too far away. MRIYA DREAM (2) is a good on speed type and will be close enough. LUVAFLAIR (5) comes in fresh and will run home well and her stablemate GRAND MAJESTIC BELLS (8) is a novelty chance against this lineup. Tips: 3 4 5 2 Suggested Bet: MCGEE (3) to win. Race 6 METHUSELAH (4) was a good effort against a strong field last time out, didn’t have much luck and closed off well, looks to be improving with more experience and will be hard to hold out. KATAMA (2) was a beaten favourite on debut in the west, looks likely to be in front again. WAVES OF FORTUNE (6) will be running home well, fitter for Friday and has good ability but once again bumps into a nice field. RAVENOUS (1) a novelty chance now he has got the pegs. TEXAS STORM (3) a novelty chance. Interest surrounds SNIPPET (5), watch the market. Tips: 4 2 6 1 Suggested Bet: METHUSELAH (4) to win. Race 7 SONIC SEELSTER (6) can use the high speed early to get across and lead, he’s not a horse with a heap of depth so wouldn’t want to burn too hard as it will detract from his finish, strong chance in this lineup though. MONTERIO (8) returns and is suited in this grade, difficult draw in the comeback run but will look threatening. THE ULTIMATE BEACH (9) tough draw to win but is holding a consistent form line. VISITING HOURS (7) suited in this grade and will be running on. Novelty chances to FIREBALL FRIDAY (3) and SUNPATRA (5). Tips: 6 8 7 9 Suggested Bet: SONIC SEELSTER (6) each way. Race 8 CRUNCH THE NUMBERS (3) leads and wins for mine, has good early speed and just caught out last week but still hit the line well late, moderate beginners to the inside and should be in front and hard to run down. BONSTAR (1) can begin well with Shannon Suvaljko, seems to get her out well but likely to be leaders back and get the good run. BEALAWYER (10) will follow the peg line and be a novelty chances. VYBRANT (2) is capable but will be shuffled back early. STIRUP IRON JACK (7) likely up outside the speed and will stick on well. DANGER (6) will run on well. Tips: 3 1 7 10 Suggested Bet: CRUNCH THE NUMBERS (3) to win. Market Market
