Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on May 18, 2026May 18, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 MYSTERY FRED (9) should dominate, he was KO’d in his last run and lost a stack of ground before running an almighty fourth, that was off the back of a debut win in the state, if he trots, he wins. ULTIMATE TESS (7) lost no admirers with her last start effort, and the stable are looking to build her confidence up, expect her to hit the line well again. YANKEE LOVER (8) is capable but isn’t the most consistent horse to follow, manners wise. LOTS OF CHANGE (4) is another who is capable but hard to get too excited at this stage. TILTHESUNSETS (1), THE BEAT (2), THE HONOURS (3) all novelty chances with their handicap advantages. Tips: 9 7 8 4 Suggested Bet: MYSTERY FRED (9) to win. Race 2 ROCK THE TOUR (8) looks to get a perfect run, had to sustain a long run last time out and wasn’t disgraced, ideal draw and will be dangerous late. THESUMMAOFGEORGE (1) looks to have ability and won a trial leading recently, will run a big race here. OUR ROBYN HOOD (4) was solid on debut and must be respected, lacked a bit of early dash but looks to be a strong type therefore can handle the breeze. SWEET ROBBIE (2) will be close enough and running on. SOME DANCER (6) a recent trial winner but has a poor draw on debut. Tips: 8 1 4 2 Suggested Bet: ROCK THE TOUR (8) to win. Race 3 STAPLETON (2) returned with a big win and will bounce of that well, he is a good front running type and looks the likely leader and looks hard to run down. SNAKEY BAY (1) hit the line well on Saturday night, has some early speed but will get a good run either way and won’t be far away. MINOR CATASTROPHE (8) has the soft draw and has a lot of high speed to bring her into it late, looks a strong closer in this. VALHALLA MISS (4) is showing good ability in lightning laps finishing top two her last two, include in your novelties. ICY COLD (7) was a good effort on Saturday, she’s mixing her gate speed but has been running on strongly from near impossible positions recently. Tips: 2 1 8 7 Suggested Bet: STAPLETON (2) to win. Race 4 Open race, HIGHVIEW ROZI (5) looks suited in this grade and expecting a strong run in this and could be some value, happy to be with her. IN FULL FLIGHT (7) has mixed form since returning but has shown promise and a lot of high speed, respect. TIPSYBYTHESEASIDE (1) has the nice draw and has improved recently, mile seems to be her go at this stage, won’t be too far away. KOH I NOOR CAMEL (6) faces an awkward draw, wasn’t a bad effort last run and this does appear easier, but the map doesn’t. SHERICKA (10) will run on, has been consistent. Tips: 5 7 1 6 Suggested Bet: HIGHVIEW ROZI (5) each way. Race 5 GOV STARZZZ (3) was run down late last time out but that was against a decent field and is a chance to lead again here and if he does, he will be looking to go one better, strong chance. AMERICAN TYPHOON (1) had no luck on Saturday and gate speed can be hit and miss, perfect draw and has options, might go the conservative option and use her speed late. MISTER KOPA (6) was better on Saturday night but had the draw to lead straight away, if he crossed quickly, he’d be a winning chance but there are a few traffic issues for him. KARAOKE STAR (8) drawn to get a soft run and will hit the line again. HALFMOONBAY (9) is a horse with ability, still learning what racing is about and will run home but is coming in fresh. Tips: 3 1 9 8 Suggested Bet: GOV STARZZZ (3) to win. Race 6 PRINCE OF TRIBECA (10) has come back well and is showing more depth and versatility, looks a suitable race and hard to beat. GIRL OF BRIGHTNESS (7) is racing well, first up for the new stable from a tough draw, should be running home again. CIGANDA (2) has the speed to lead and will give them something to catch, had no luck last start and was a good effort to still finish second. ROMAN LEGION (11) and GOGGINS (12) will be running on, the former was better last run and can be put into it earlier if need be. Tips: 10 2 11 7 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF TRIBECA (10) to win. Race 7 REDDY TO FLY (9) was luckless again on Saturday night from a back row draw, he has been costly to follow but he just keeps promising a win and I’d much rather be on him each way in this field. BLOCKJORG (2) has the speed to potentially lead and will be running a bold race, but she is finding it hard to breakthrough. CALL TO ARMS (8) was good in his return to the stable, he may have some traffic problems but will be highly dangerous if the gaps open. CANELO (1) nicely drawn and comes in with novelty claims. Tips: 9 8 2 1 Suggested Bet: REDDY TO FLY (9) each way. Race 8 BOY BLUE (7) is highly talented and has an immense amount of high speed, this looks a winnable assignment on return, very hard to beat. MISS UNEEK (8) has the perfect draw and has had a few races that haven’t suited, looks a strong place chance from the pegs role. CHEKKER (1) has elevated in recent runs and has the nice draw, respect as she has options from the draw. ICE COLD SAPPORO (6) is capable but can really mix his form, tricky draw. BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (9) is a novelty chance with MAJOR FREEWAY (3), ERA (10) and FLYIN DISCO (11). Tips: 7 8 1 9 Suggested Bet: BOY BLUE (7) to win. Race 9 IM DRINKINDOUBLES (5) has been building into this nicely, both runs have had merit, draws a touch better and is versatile in this grade, looks hard to beat in this, loves the shorter trips. STRAYLYA (9) has been luckless, did the work and had to share in a victory two starts ago and then got a short back and sides last start and was left in the breeze again, he likes this trip and looks a chance again. HEAVENLY BLISS (3) chased hard on Saturday and is holding decent consistency, novelty chance with GEARSINAWHIRL (1) who could improve off the back of a poor run. BLIND EDITION (10) a novelty chance. Tips: 5 9 1 3 Suggested Bet: IM DRINKINDOUBLES (5) each way. Market Market
