Matt Young’s Friday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 14, 2026May 15, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 KINKY (12) is hard to go past with her current form but needs to balance quickly and get into the race, she is a work horse and likes to have things on her terms in terms of racing prowess, expecting a strong performance. LILLIE QUEEN (4) has the speed to burn across and potentially lead and is on the quick backup from Tuesday, expect an even better version of her here. UP AND ALIVE (8) very capable but faces a difficult draw when she is predominantly high speed. DIAMOND WORLD (6), GELSOMINO AMAL (9) both can use their early speed to get forward into better positions and both capable. OFFICIAL ROCK (7) racing well without much luck but is ready to win. Tips: 12 4 8 7 Suggested Bet: KINKY (12) to win. Race 2 Open race. RUBY LOU (1) has been unlucky in recent runs and has the draw and a lot of the dangers where she would want them, could give them something to catch. OPAL HUNTER (10) is ready to win but will need an element of luck from the draw. FOLLOW ROCKNROLL (11) is racing well but following out a roughie, has options and may go to the pegs and try for some luck, could be dangerous with some luck. BETTOR ARCADE (9) must overcome the wide draw but has been developing nicely on a Friday night and must be respected. FINAL COLLECT (5) is hard to get too excited about on form, he has just been sound in recent races. BEAT THE BANK (3) is a novelty chance, racing soundly with ARIONROCK (8). Tips: 1 10 11 9 Suggested Bet: RUBY LOU (1) each way. Race 3 SEASIDE POND (4) reads up well for this race in his WA debut, will look to keep the advantage and run to the lead in this and should be able to open the account in Perth with a win. BETTOR MOVE ALONG (1) has the speed to hold runners to the outside and think he’s going well enough to be leaders back and run a place. FABULOUS DREAM (5) racing well but faces another challenge from the mid row draw. SWEET PINS (9) better suited in this grade but gets the visitors draw with A LITTLE SILENCE (12) who is consistent. RELLIM (10) should be included in back ends of your first fours as he follows speed well. Tips: 4 1 9 12 Suggested Bet: BETTOR MOVE ALONG (1) to place. Race 4 WHEN IN VEGAS (3) starts from where he sat the trip in a big win at Kellerberrin on return, has the draw advantage and will be driving out hard to lead, he is a good front running type and looks hard to beat. ULTIMATE MIKI (5) had no right to win off the back off everything that went wrong last week but this presents a good test as he will likely have to do the work. LAST HARD COPY (9) is a highly talented horse and although he draws the river, he will run a big race in this. HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (1) is a novelty chance from the draw but is a few steps below his best and other novelty chances to DARK EYES (6), WICKED HUSTLER (10) and TERROR IN TEXAS (12). Tips: 3 9 5 10 Suggested Bet: WHEN IN VEGAS (3) to win. Race 5 CHASE ME (2) is a difficult horse to catch but has put together some good performances recently, he will be driving hard for the top but no guarantee it’s there and that could make it a bit shaky. FULL SWING DENARIO (1) has options from the draw, much better suited in this from the draw. MAXIMUM ROCK (3) is a quick beginner, but the element of surprise won’t be there when drawn in closer. HUGOTASTIC (5) just needs a touch of luck, something that’s been severely lacking in recent racing, major player with any racing luck. MENEMSHA (8) is highly talented but faces a deep race from a difficult draw with BELLY UP (6) who’s going well without much luck also. BETTORS PRIDE (10) chances rely on FULL SWING DENARIO (1) again you would say with YOURE SO FINE (12) returning and capable. Tough race. Tips: 2 5 1 10 Suggested Bet: HUGOTASTIC (5) each way. Race 6 We learn a bit about a few here tonight. BEETASTIC (4) won in a trial like performance last Friday and steps up against a better one tonight but also has a distinct draw and map advantage on that runner, looks to have high speed and well-rounded talent, hard to go past. WAVE REBELLION (9) won from a position that is rarely seen, she will need to be good from the draw as she has proven to be a sit and swoop type for Stuart McDonald, looks to be smart so this will tell us a lot more about her from the draw. KOOJAN (2) returns and holds the draw advantage, was hard to get a gauge on last time in and looks to have some ability. JOLTED CHARM (1) ideally drawn and has the chance to get into the money with ADMIRAL DARCY (11) and WALL STREET GIRL (12). Tips: 4 8 2 1 Suggested Bet: BEETASTIC (4) to win. Race 7 Start sorts the race out here. MY SILVER SPOON (5) normally begins quickly and will be looking to make up the handicap and get to the top, if he leads, I think he will win. LUVBITE (1) has been luckless since a bold debut in the west, expecting him to go well but start is key, if he leads, he will most likely win. TWOBOB CRACKER (2) and FRANCO MECCA (4) both novelty chances with their reliable stand skills with the former being second up and loves being on the pegs. BLAZING REACTOR (11) won’t get the chance to lead and roll in this, still a novelty chance with BLUTO (12) who is a quick closing type. ROCK ME OVER (6), MEDIEVAL MAN (7) and BLAZE AWAY (8) all novelty hopes. Tips: 5 1 2 4 Suggested Bet: MY SILVER SPOON (5) to win. Race 8 RAKLOU (6) finds a suitable race, this is a distinct drop in grade on recent form and if she goes anywhere like she did two starts ago, she should win but could be short in the market. BET ON THE RIVER (4) could use his speed and get to the top early and has options, will be dangerous late sitting on speed. SUGAR STREET (5) is a novelty chance but rarely wins. STATE MY CASE (8), DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (9) are genuine knockout chances with their closing speed but need a deal of luck from their respective draws. IL BANDITO (2) a novelty chance with the early speed and TAKE A HIKE (11) was better last run but was in a slowly run race. Tips: 6 4 8 9 Suggested Bet: RAKLOU/BET ON THE RIVER to Quinella. Race 9 RUMBLE STRIP (12) is third up into the preparation and should be winning this easily, this is an easier assignment than the first two outings and he should be building with fitness to show his strength. ROX THE WORLD (9) is a versatile type and the couple of scratchings will allow him to use his speed to get around some. SUGAR SHAKE (8) didn’t have much luck last time out and form has been solid, should run into the top three with other novelty chances to TRUE GRIT (10), MAJOR OVERS (4) and GREVIS (7). Tips: 12 9 8 10 Suggested Bet: ROX THE WORLD (9) place. Race 10 Will learn a lot about some runners in this. EL RAES GIRL (1) is my tip, her form numerically isn’t one to get excited about, but she has had no luck from bad draws, and I think we can see her show her best, think she will run a big race here, hoping for a price. MANUKA BAY (3) has decent early speed, and this is a good test on what we’ve seen so far but looks to have talent. CINCH (4) is highly talented but can be hit and miss early, shocked me by leading at Pinjarra when winning well, draw suggests he will be close enough and has tremendous closing speed. IN RARE AIR (7) can do the work in his races but map looks tricky initially. WAVES OF FORTUNE (6) trialled up well and will be running on. Tips: 1 4 7 3 Suggested Bet: EL RAES GIRL (1) each way.
