Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 13, 2026April 13, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 DREAMS DOWN UNDER (1) trialled up well and gets the perfect draw with options from it, looks hard to beat here with the powerful Aiden De Campo stable. URSULAS WISH (7) was solid in a narrow victory at Bunbury but looks to have the versatility and high speed to negate a tough draw, she beat ILIKEITLIKETHAT (3) who looks to have ability and draws to be close enough and must be respected. MODEST MOLLY (4) won a recent trial and looks to have ability, but the draw is challenging and stablemate THEMARASSHADOW (8) has an ideal draw. THE SEA COMMADER (9) is improving but faces a back row draw today. Tips: 1 3 7 9 Suggested Bet: DREAMS DOWN UNDER (1) to win. Race 2 CHUGAGH (5) impressed me last time out when hitting the line strongly after being involved in a ridiculously quick lead time, looks like he has come back well and has tremendous gate speed to boot, hard to beat. PATRIARCH (7) is a talented type on return and is a tough pacer, will likely need that on return but will be in the thick of it. AMERICAN FALCON (9) had the race run to the suit but couldn’t get over them last start, wasn’t beaten far and shouldn’t be too far away again here. TOBY GEORGE (6) trialled up soundly and looks a novelty chance with GENTLEMENS PROMISE (8) who has plenty of talent. Tips: 5 7 9 8 Suggested Bet: CHUGACH (5) to win. Race 3 SUNSHINE SWIFT (7) did the work and wasn’t beaten far last time out, and I would say that was a deeper race then what she faces here, expecting her to charge forward and be happy to do the work and be the one to hold out. RIPPER VIEW (5) will be better for the first up effort of a freshen up and has some early speed, always thought the lightning laps would suit her and think she’s a winning chance. SHES ALL GO (2) is capable but mixes her form frequently. PURA VIDA (3) racing just soundly looks a novelty chance. THERE AND THEN (4) wasn’t a bad effort when returning in a race where they ran 1.53.5. BATAVIA WEST (8) comes off a freshen up but is a novelty chance and BLOCKJORG (9) capable of improvement but needs it based off recent form. Tips: 7 5 2 9 Suggested Bet: SUNSHINE SWIFT (7) to win. Race 4 ICE COLD SAPPORO (5) won well last time out but still wanted to wait for them late and wasn’t overly keen on running to the lead, could get a similar run against a similar field and be hard to beat but wouldn’t want to be diving in too short. LILLIE QUEEN (1) will be better for the last start effort, has the speed and gives her options, YAWOMA (6) did a lot of chasing behind Sammy Suffarell last time in quick time and looks better suited in this grade. IM EUGENE (8) is a decent novelty chance, he has an application of trying to win which could come into play late in this, outside chance. CHEKKER (2) wasn’t a bad effort considering the ridiculously quick lead time last time out, if she hasn’t taken harm from that run, she wouldn’t be too far away. Open race, play wide in your quaddie’s. Tips: 5 1 8 6 Suggested Bet: IM EUGENE (8) each way. Race 5 Open race here. MAJOR DALTON (1) had a nice run and got the victory after a quick back straight quarter last week, will get a similar run here. HARRYS A ROCKSTAR (2) hasn’t had much luck but is racing well, early speed is a bit of a query but should settle close enough to be dangerous. BEALAWYER (3) could be driven aggressively here, and he responds well when he is on speed, expecting and improvement in this. ME FLASH (6) has a good record in lightning laps but faces a tricky draw, likely heads forward to try and lead. HALFMOONBAY (8) caught the eye last run and will be hitting it strongly again. AKABAH (7) and MAKE IT HAPPEN (5) face awkward draws to overcome. Tips: 3 6 2 8 Suggested Bet: BEALAWYER (3) each way. Race 6 IM SPIDERMAN (2) is a fantastic front runner and looks well suited here to bounce on the lead and be very hard to run down against this lineup, expecting a sharp improvement from him. IDEAL INTEREST (7) not a horse who can do his own dirty work therefore the draw makes things a lot more challenging for him, he won well in a sprint when leading last start but rises in distance and won’t lead. JILL MACH (4) wasn’t a bad effort after making a rare error in a stand last time out, small field suits but don’t think she’ll be too far away. OUR MAJOR JACK (1) is a novelty chance with GOLD HORSESHOE (8) who both have soft draws. Tips: 2 4 7 8 Suggested Bet: IM SPIDERMAN (2) to win. Race 7 Cracking race. BETTORS PRIDE (7) is second up and has a lot of upside this time in, he is a versatile type but at the heart of it he is blistering early and has a lot of ability, expecting a big run from him. MEDIEVAL MAN (6) was a great win in the Easter Cup on Good Friday, will be looking to get forward again and he is a good staying type and if anything should be better again being second up. CAMS BOULDER (5) has been racing well in metro grade, expecting him to be in the firing line and will appreciate the drop back to his home track. ROCK ME OVER (10), INFINITE SIGN (11) and REINETTE (12) will all be running on but need some tempo to bring them into it. KURIOUS BOY (3) and GOODTIME LOUIS (2) will be handy. Tips: 7 6 5 10 Suggested Bet: BETTORS PRIDE (7) to win. Race 8 Early speed here from GEARSINAWHIRL (1) and STRAYLYA (3) which should ensue a decent tempo, the former has had a few opportunities and has options but being over the lightning lap I expect him to lead, the latter has been belted from pillar to post in recent efforts and still stuck on well and is ready to win. GALVINSTON JOHN (8) will be a big improver following the speed and looks a decent chance here. DOWNBYTHEAVENUE (6) has the ability but has been a tricky horse to follow. SPEED FORCE (7) looks tested now from the draw. CHIEF COPY (9) could improve and SMOKEYS SHADOW (10) is good enough but catching him is proving very difficult indeed. Tips: 8 3 1 6 Suggested Bet: GALVINSTON JOHN (8) each way. Market Market
