RACE 1

LIVING LIKE KINGS looked home and hosed last start until he put in the short strides up the home straight at Roebourne. The sections tell the same story as the eye (which is concerning) first 800m run 4.5L faster than average, last 600m run 11L slower than average. He was off his feet and he stopped. Going to give him another chance but boy, he was soft late. RICCO DORO is drawn inside him and might even try to hold him out early? BLACK CILA a watch at her first start on the dirt. MAKE DE FORTUNE will improve for the experience.

RACE 2

ROYALZEL should just continue to win his way through the grades at Port Hedland and the scary part is that he’s a 1600m winner – so he can keep winning in 56+ company and then join the 64+ brigade once the distances become more suitable to him. Was forced to do it tough last start and was still too strong for them late. SIMPLY ROSSSO suffered his first NW defeat of the season at the hands of Yardstick and Compak last start at Roebourne. Jumps and runs. JUSTHANDY is starting to find her feet and wins one soon. PRINSESSA ANJA is speedy but tends to fold up late.

RACE 3

ZADAR ROCK returned in a blaze of glory first-up over 1600m with a last to first win under 62kg. He’s now got 63.5kg but with the runner-up of that race Striking Fella not here it really does open the door for him to go back to back and announce himself as the horse to beat in the Cups Series. MERCIAN HYMN will continue to improve as the distances increase. He’ll come into his own over 2000m+. Going along well. UNI QUEEN is going to be a nice acquisition for Dean Cocivera and the region. REGINALD is yet to find his dirt legs this season.

RACE 4

KIA ORA TATOU has had two runs at Roeboune for minor placings behind Mrs Kangaroo and She Is God and now steps out to 1400m. Most horses on the dirt get an extra furlong than they do on the grass so happy to follow up with KIA ORA TATOU who can ride the speed and keep whacking away late. BRAZILIAN BELLE is loving dirt racing and this is a really good use of the 4kg claim for Holly Nottle. FELLAFROMDOWNUNDER is enigmatic but will surprise them one day. POWER TROOPER simply out stayed them to win his maiden.

RACE 5

BORDER CONTROL has had two starts at Port Hedland for two wins. They’ve both been this track/distance/grade and they’ve been against similar opposition and by similar margins. Sinead Peebles takes over riding duties with her 3kg claim and as a fun fact all 4 winners in the last 90 days have come on 1000 – 1200m horses. PROTECTED ACTION has the Border Control form and Leigh Murray’s team is airborne. COMPAK gets weight relief and is building quickly towards another win. BLAZING PASSION gives 110% and is getting close.

RACE 6

WARBY RANGES has won a C1 1400 and a C1 1200 at his last two at Roebourne and Port Hedland respectively and looks another Tim Pike Eastern States acquisition who can just keep winning and get through the grades quickly. Sharni Webster is enjoying a great start to her riding career – going at 12.3% after 65 rides is good areas for a 4/3kg claimer and this looks another big winning chance. HEEZA BEAU was finally ridden for speed last start and it paid dividends. SHOOTING KONTIKI is back in grade and always a chance if getting across. MRS KANGAROO is stretched at the end of 1300.
