Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on June 23, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 First meeting back on the re-laid track and reports to date have been most positive. Tricky start for the 2yos. GINGER ‘N’ PINK has jumped out well to resume for her second campaign. OUTBACK MISS impressed winning on debut on heavy ground. MANTUA is sure to have derived benefit from his encouraging debut. SPRING EAGLE was another to impress on debut and gets blinkers. AMIGO ran well on debut and has jumped out nicely. Selections: 11,10,4,6 Suggested Bet: Ginger ‘n’ Pink each way Race 2 KATSU was beaten on his merits last time but has jumped out well between runs and drops in grade. FLYING ON A LIMB has impressed at her two wins this preparation and looks up to the rise in grade. PENTHOUSE will strip fitter third up and give a sight on speed, as will BUBBLE PALACE. ORTEGA is an intriguing runner, he’s a maiden with obvious talent and has jumped out impressively. Selections: 1,5,2,4 Suggested Bet: Katsu to win Race 3 DESIAH has jumped out in good style to resume and brings an impressive first up record. The form through DOUBLERN reads well after Cause for Concern’s win last week and she’ll strip fitter third up. FIELD OF PRAISE has jumped out well to resume and was scratched during the week to be reserved for this. VA VIA is fit and consistent. Selections: 3,11,1,2 Suggested Bet: Desiah each way Race 4 Even contest. BOLD BOURBON has been freshened since hitting a purple patch of form and his fresh form is solid. TROSETTEE caught the eye first up and has trialled nicely between runs. THE NEPHEW has also trialled between runs and showed good improvement to win second up. WILD IMAGINATION will make her own luck and the stable always warrant respect when they travel to Victoria. SIR ATLAS is unbeaten to date and has obvious upside. Selections: 5,3,10,15 Suggested Bet: Bold Bourbon each way Race 5 HAZEL BABY takes on the boys but chased a promising stablemate last time and stays down in the weights after the claim. LOUNGE BAR RUBI is having a great preparation, he just might need a touch of luck from the inside draw. MAGNASPIN was good behind Lounge Bar Rubi last time and is sure to be improved by that first up run. ANOTHER PONZI and MICHELOTTI are among the other hopes in a deep race. Selections: 8,2,9,6 Suggested Bet: Hazel Baby each way Race 6 CARDIGAN QUEEN sprinted well to win last start and should be suited by a solid tempo. SAINT BATHANS is capable fresh and without any trials or jumpouts the market may be the best guide. ARRAN BAY has jumped out well and maps for a soft run. BARBIE’S FOX has had a good grounding for 1400m. ST LAWRENCE has jumped out ok to resume at a suitable trip. The firmer the better for SERIOUS LIAISON. Selections: 12,2,5,6 Suggested Bet: Cardigan Queen each way Race 7 Another competitive race. ALL ABOUT EVE has jumped out in good style to resume and should be suited by what appears to be a solid tempo. WINNING VERSE is likely to be part of the speed and is capable of maintaining a strong gallop. NICCOLITE sprinted well to win an easier race last time. SENEGALIA is back in winning form and gets a claim. STARLIGHT SCOPE has jumped out well on this new track. INVINCIBLE CAVIAR doesn’t want it too wet but will appreciate stepping up to 1100m. Selections: 11,3,14,6 Suggested Bet: All About Eve each way Race 8 NORMANDY BRIDGE is racing in great form and may be looking for 2000m now. CHERRY TORTONI has trialled well between runs and had no luck two starts back. DEEPSTRIKE received a great ride to beat Normandy Bridge at his latest run and is a winner out to 2000m. MILFORD comes through that same form line, he races well here and will appreciate the rise in trip. Selections: 4,3,5,1 Suggested Bet: Normandy Bridge to win Race 9 Typically tough finish. PROWLING should appreciate coming back to 1200m and his placing at Listed level two starts back reds well for this. OUTBACK ACTION was below market expectations at Murray Bridge but he gets down in the weights and his previous win, albeit with the pattern in is favour, was strong. LA CARESSE maps for a soft run and was scratched from a suitable race on his home track during the week to be kept for this. WHIPCRACKER WAY looms suited dropping back to 1200m. TIJUANA was given a solid hit out winning a recent jumpout. Selections: 9,15,14,12 Suggested Bet: Prowling each way Market Market
