The Scout: World Cup Matchday 9 Preview, 28 Nov Posted on November 28, 2022November 29, 2022 | Posted by The Scout Group G – Cameroon v Serbia Both sides lost their opening game, and Cameroon in particular will be disappointed to have failed to pick up any points. Despite drawing a blank against Switzerland, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is expected to keep his spot up front instead of captain Vincent Aboubakar. Olivier Ntcham will miss the remaining group games through injury. Serbia’s key trio of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Dusan Vlahovic and Filip Kostic were not fully fit for the game against Brazil, and it proved costly. Mitrovic and Vlahovic could start in a front 2 this, meaning a deeper role for captain Dusan Tadic. WIN Serbia @ $1.74* Group H – South Korea v Ghana The masked Son Heung-min came through South Korea’s first game unscathed, however Hwang Hee-chan is a major doubt with a hamstring problem. Don’t be surprised to see an unchanged line up. Ghana have no major injury concerns but it will be interesting to see if they go with a more attacking set up than against Portugal. They were unlucky in the 3-2 defeat, with Andre Ayew and Osman Bukari netting. Recently naturalised striker Inaki Williams could be good for a goal here. DRAW @ $3.10* Group G – Brazil v Switzerland No Neymar, no worries? The superstar will miss Brazil’s next two games with an ankle injury, but they have a wealth of options to pick from. Danilo is also sidelined, meaning we might see 39-year-old Dani Alves play his World Cup game since 2014. Switzerland scraped past Cameroon, but a win is a win, and it means there are unlikely to be changes. Breel Embolo scored the only goal of the game and led the line well. There is no room for Fabian Schaer or Denis Zakaria, neither of whom made it off the bench in the first game. WIN Brazil @ $1.40* Group H – Portugal v Uruguay A fortunate penalty and a near calamitous error from their goalkeeper meant Portugal rode their luck against Ghana. Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored in 5 World Cup tournaments and remains the talisman. Rafael Leao is pushing for a starting following his goal off the bench. Uruguay’s own veteran striker, Luis Suarez, was very poor against South Korea and could be replaced by another wily old fox in Edinson Cavani. Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo is still not fit to play so Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez should remain as the centre back partnership. DRAW @ $3.25* *Odds correct as at 9am, 28th November 2022.
