Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on October 23, 2020October 23, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 4 No.7 Alert And Ready Has her hoof right on the till this Toowoomba trained filly. Heavily backed on debut she was travelling strongly into the race before losing jockey Maddie Wishart approaching the home turn. Last start she drew wide settling last before really winding up and charging to the line the last 150m. Gets her chance to break through tomorrow and I’m sticking with her. RACE 6 No.9 Glitter Strip Lightly raced filly from the in-form Tony Gollan stable who closed off strongly here a fortnight back when resuming. Ridden back last due to her wide draw that day she gave away a decent start before improving her position early in the straight, held up she only gained clear running inside the final 200m. Tomorrow she maps to box seat right behind the pace from the perfect gate. RACE 7 No.6 Tokoriki Lad Hopefully another one for the Gollan yard who also goes around second up. His pattern is to get back in his races which was the case first up when hitting the line strongly late. Tomorrow he draws very well suggesting he could well take up a much more prominent spot early. If that’s the case he’ll only need room in the straight to get home over the leaders. Quaddie 2, 6, 9 1, 2, 3, 12 5, 7, 10 4, 7, 13 Market Market
