Scott Embry’s Saturday Carnarvon Preview Posted on September 11, 2020September 11, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BEHROOZ had been building into the preparation and finally broke through last start. Worth noting he was also down on the inside which hasn’t been the place to be all season and provided he can carry the 62.5 looks very well placed to make it back to back wins. MYTHICAL TRUST is a 10 year old who has already had 11 starts this preparation and quickly closing in on 100 outings but continues to race brilliantly. Much like Behrooz, very well placed in this grade. KLONDIKE KENNY has raced well since heading to the region. DAM LUCKY next best coming out of the Junction meeting. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – BEHROOZ WIN RACE 2 BILLY JACK is probably the most intriguing runner on the entire program. He is a highly talented 4 year old who probably could win races in town but Bob Bell has taken his boutique team up to Carnarvon and he finds himself in a weak 1400m maiden. Be wary because he is a backmarker and it’s first start on the dirt but on talent, he’s classes above these. EMPIRE KHAN put in an uncharacteristic shocker last start. Blinkers on and worth forgiving. FAIR FORCE will win one soon and Tash Faithful could even find the front. OLD TOWN PREDATOR got really busy late last start. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – BILLY JACK WIN RACE 3 RETRIBUTION was beaten by the riderless horse last start, plain and simple. If he was able to be ridden out to the line he wins back to back races. Previous effort when demolishing them was excellent and really held up as a form reference. Senior rider, he leads and takes beating. FERNGROVE got the better of him last start but will need to improve again to beat him. RHINO’S LAD gets weight on them but was beaten a fair margin. THE DAINTREE a mad one for novelty players. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – RETRIBUTION WIN RACE 4 KING OF PLANETS ran them into the ground at his most recent Carnarvon outing. Was only a C1 but he ran them 7.5L faster than average and never looked like being beaten. Got rolled at Junction last Saturday but returning to Carnarvon can see him go close. URBAN GIRL is thriving on the dirt and no reason why she can’t win again. Wide draw suits her because she’ll slide across. KNUCKLE DOWN and IN THE MOSH PIT are both going well without winning. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – KING OF PLANETS EACHWAY RACE 5 PREMIO MOMENTO has continued to improve from start to start and now looks the testing material in the feature sprint. Two starts ago was heavily supported when running down Jelani Express in the shadows of the post and then last time out simply found the 1000m short course a little too slick. Really competitive sprint field and he’s one of a fair few winning chances. JELANI EXPRESS is being ridden for speed and that’s his biggest asset. Can carry the weight and takes running down. SALAMAAT drops back sharply in trip and he is a live chance with the senior rider going on. ABU DHABI is a 1200m horse and if he leaves cleanly can kick up underneath Jelani Express into a winnable position. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – PREMIO MOMENTO WIN RACE 6 GLORYLAND has been building since joining Darryn Pateman’s yard and reunites with his best mate Simone Altieri for the first time this campaign. Together they have won a Cable Beach Caravan Park Cup, Kimblerley Cup and Broome Cup as well as placed in a Boulder Cup, Coolgardie Cup and Kalgoorlie Cup. Looking to add a Carnarvon Cup to the cabinet and finally gets his chance to find the front. DANEFIN tasted defeat for the first time at his most recent (disregarding his 1000m ‘trial’). Ben Paterson goes for one ride and he hasn’t done that since Woomera was around. JENABEL is flying but like Danefin the trip is right on her limit. MAJORA’S MASK needs luck from the draw but went super last start. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 9 – 11 Suggested Bet – GLORYLAND WIN RACE 7 SHREWD GAMBLE has really hit a purple patch of form. Three starts ago ran sixth but clocked the best sections of the entire meeting from the L1000. Two starts ago ran into Retribution when they broke well clear of the rest and then last start duly saluted when well supported. No reason he can’t win again. REUCOOP should appreciate a senior rider going on because he does need to be wound up a long way out. BALMONT STUNNER is knocking on the door. GLOWING ROCK a blow out at odds. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SHREWD GAMBLE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,5,7,8 1,2,3,6,7 1,2,3,4,9,10,11 2,8 Market Market
