Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on February 14, 2020February 14, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 VITAL BOOM is absolutely low flying. This is a step up in grade on paper but most opposition are either out of form or on their mark. Took off well before the corner and never looked like being run down at his most recent. Looks like making the grade. EVERYMILE A MEMORY was able to sprint well fresh and looks set for a fruitful NW campaign. PAGAN IMAGE is better than he is currently showing. JIMMY RAPID ran a better race last start. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – VITAL BOOM WIN Race 2 NURHACI was held up almost the entire length of the straight first-up when hard in the market. Was beaten 6L behind Excellent Dream next start but he was simply run off his feet when they ran 58.89 for the 1016. Last start not disgraced and this is a whole lot easier. CLASSIC ROGUE caught the eye at trials and should give the favourite a run for his money. CRASH HAT LADY has shades added and wasn’t far behind Nurhaci last start. DANTORIO trialed better at her most recent. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – NURHACI WIN Race 3 WINNIE’S WINE hit the line hard from a long way off them last start behind Mexi Cola. Mexi Cola has won a C1 since and on the fresh side back to 1500 looks hard to hold out. Jason Whiting gives the lead jumping off Miss Pins. TRUTIARA steps up in distance in what looks like a little throw at the stumps after going around short in the maiden sprints and lacking a great turn of foot. MISS PINS is honest and consistent. HUSSTARR was given every mortal hope at Geraldton. Numbers: 8 – 10 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – WINNIE’S WINE WIN Race 4 MOOD GODDESS is a Saturday horse in the making taking on Albany and provincial opposition. It might be wishful thinking but black figures would be seriously attractive. She’ll only get better up in trip and won with her eyes closed first-up at 1200. Nice mare. TAMPERING FALLS could give them something to catch if finding the top. ARSINOE disappointing fresh. Looking for improvement. THE REAL SEPOY building. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – MOOD GODDESS WIN Race 5 DEANGLES travelled very strongly three back the fence last start and was bolting before the corner. Held up on straightening and then made a run along what was the inferior going on the day. Draws another plumb gate and can turn the tables on stablemate Demiritise. DEMERITISE beat him home last start and drawn to get another similar quality run in transit. DYNAMITE BAY has been in form all season. CARESS YOUR SOUL could give them something to catch. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – DEANGLES WIN Race 6 TRANQUILLA SUNRISE is going great runs and is completely unaware that he is 10 years old. Beaux Edwards rides him to his strengths: jump, run and get a break before the corner. He wins his races at the 600 when he goes for home and he’ll again take serious running down. CAPTIVATED POINT is the winner of 9 races at Albany and is never far from the action. He’ll be taking ground late. SIR SNUGALOT will need an ounce of luck to get in. LITTLE PUNGA is going well. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 5 – 11 Suggested Bet – TRANQUILLA SUNRISE WIN Race 7 LORDHELPMERUN is on trial at the 2100m but he is a class animal and it looks like this race has been on his radar for a while. Steve Wolfe has been fairly vocal in his opinion (that’s new) that his Playing God stable star will get the ground comfortably and this is a wonderful race to find out. Drawn wide and has 59kg but he is the best horse in the race by lengths. SUPERIOR SMILE backs up off 7 days from the Narrogin Cup and should box seat from the draw. DARK MUSKET doesn’t win out of turn but this does look a nice race for him with only 54.5kg. WAR KSAR looks the best local hope. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 15 Suggested Bet – LORDHELPMERUN WIN Race 8 IONYX was tested over ground last start when stepping up to 1925. He didn’t look to get the trip but he was still brave and actually came again in the last 50m after looking ready to put up the white flag. Races on speed, back in trip, he looks hard to beat. STARORIO is flying and again looks like waiting for the late rails run. TIME TO HUNT seems to appreciate galloping room. Clearly going well but possibly not that well suited from the inside. READ THE RIOT ACT drops back to 58+ and Chris Parnham on catches the eye. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – IONYX WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 4,5 3,6 1,2,3,4,14,15 2,8,9 Market Market
