Scott Embry’s Sunday Mount Barker Preview Posted on November 1, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PRIZED NEMESIS is a 17 start maiden who is hard to ride, hard to follow and costly to connections but this has to be his race. Likely joins a Great Southern Stable to continue on his campaign after Barker but he really should be winning this on exposed form. PROPELLER was hard ridden and fully tested in a recent trial but finished off ok. CENSURE was fair at York and has shades added. SEEING DAYLIGHT has run a couple of recent placings in weak races. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – PRIZED NEMESIS WIN Race 2 MY BLUEBOY should be far too strong for moderate opposition. Finished third beaten under a length last time out behind Oreo and in-form maiden The Full Quid. This is an easier race and Pateman could get his Albany/Barker season off to a flyer. CATIA draws wide but is a 1000m horse. PALAVER ran well on debut and should only improve for the outing. TWO COOL is speedy and comes out running. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – MY BLUEBOY WIN Race 3 TRANSGRESSOR has put the writing on the wall at his last two starts when second to Stable Secret in a 0MWLY and then a luckless fourth in a 60+ at Scot when held up at crucial stages behind the leaders. Hard to hold out late. ICE MAKER is a 1000m jump and run specialist and the Rogers yard are flying. He teams up brilliantly with Beaux Edwards and takes a stack of running down. FAIR NAKITA rarely runs a bad race and normally puts in one fresh. TWISTED MOUNTAIN gets it soft. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRANSGRESSOR WIN Race 4 SWANKY LASS leaves Roy Rogers and joins Paul Hunter. She is very quick and lead them up two starts ago when burning early. Expecting Pateman to find the front and for her to take some running down. DEMTIMES was poor last campaign and has now found a new home with Michelle Hagley. At his best he could march over them from last. WILLOW RIVER was consistent all last campaign. DYNAMITE BAY will be the forgotten runner but has ability. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – SWANKY LASS WIN Race 5 WAR CLASS was set a task first-up when thrown in the deep end in a Saturday 58+ race. Drew wide, went back and hit the line well. Draws a gate here and in an evenly graded bunch should run a race. TAMPERING FALLS put together two in a row when leading. If Hall finds the top he’ll take running down. AL CAPITANO has improved since joining Jon Jachmann. CALBANESCO is a forgotten animal after a poor campaign. Showed ability in his early days. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – WAR CLASS WIN Race 6 LIGHT THE FUSE has been a consistent mare her entire preparation. First-up no trial was run off her feet at 1100, second-up was brave after sitting deep and last start in a 60+ at Ascot was beaten 7 but was well out of her grade. Can play a part in this at a price. ARRUM BOY has been a tough frustrating to follow throughout his career. He really should be winning this but can do a bit wrong. BON VOYAGE will be winning one soon and the Bairstow yard usually dominate at Barker. LONG KNIFE BROTHER is always a chance in this grade. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – LIGHT THE FUSE EACHWAY Race 7 ONE POINT LADY looked above average as a juvenile and then went missing for a little while. Her last campaign was strong and she could come back even better. Drawn wide but Peter Hall is a master at timing his runs. SIXPENCE SPENT draws well but is a tough one to follow. On his day is the best horse in the race. On the other days he’ll turn it up. COLD AS COLD has the necessary turn of foot to go through the grades. CHASING CHAOS has been a grand old campaigner and is always a chance. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – ONE POINT LADY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4,7,8,9 1,2,3,4,5 1,3,4,6,7 1,2,3,5 Market Market
