Wayne Clark’s BBL Preview: Renegades vs Sixers Posted on February 14, 2019 | Posted by Wayne Clark Renegades vs Sixers (Marvel Stadium) Friday 15th February, 4.40pm WST A poor performance by the Sixers in the final round led to the Renegades being gifted a home final and a huge advantage. The Sixers last performance highlighted their problem of losing early wickets in the power play. There is a great reliance on good starts from Daniel Hughes (347 runs) and Josh Philippe (252). As individuals they have been solid but haven’t combined as a unit, which needs to happen in this game if they are going to challenge the Renegades. James Vince (241), Moises Henriques (261) and Jordan Silk (263) have all shown at times their talent, however overall, it’s been a team relying too much on the individual performance to consistently post a competitive score. More contribution as a group is needed against the talented Renegades. The loss of Tom Curran will affect them greatly and leaves a massive hole in their bowling attack; especially at the death when Curran excelled. There will be a greater reliance on spinners O’Keefe, Pope and Lyon on what could be a suitable wicket. The Renegades have had a pretty settled side and one that has great balance. The loss of Mohammad Nabi will be telling but the line-up of Harris, Finch, Harper, Cooper, Christian, Harvey and maybe the experienced Cam White; gives them good depth and talent in their batting. The bowling led by tournament leading wicket taker Kane Richardson (24) has been very consistent with the ever-reliable Christian (13) and Boyce (12) helping to restrict most batting line-ups. I believe the last round loss by the Sixers will haunt them. The Renegades play this ground well and will have enough class to win the contest. Tips Winner: Renegades Renegades Most Runs: Marcus Harris Sixers Most Runs: Moises Henriques Renegades Most Wickets: Dan Christian Sixers Most Wickets: Sean Abbott Market Market
