Scott Embry’s Friday Mount Barker Preview Posted on December 6, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 HIGHFRIAR should be saluting if he can reproduce his first-up run behind the talented Triggerfish. Was sent out a warm favourite at his second start this preparation and ran well below expectation. Back to Barker, should be winning. MAGAYS ran an absolute cracker on debut at Mt Barker in November last year. All runs since and trials since have been poor. RAGING ROCKET and HIGHWAY GLORY look like fighting out the minor end. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – HIGHFRIAR WIN Race 2 BON SIGNORE won three starts ago beating Deception Game and Royal Strata who have since made the form look strong. Should find the front here or sit outside the leader and make it a staying test. GAUGED goes well at Barker and backs up off 6 days dropping in grade. Very hard to beat. LEXDEN GAMBLER sat on top of a strong top end tempo last start. TONED is always a blowout chance in these. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – BON SIGNORE WIN Race 3 REACTION was no match for a big winner first-up from a spell but trialed well and is drawn well. Always showed a level of ability and this is the weakest maiden he has seen. ROMAN GIFT trialed well for his return to the race track. Has the right rider aboard to get it done. SHEZABUTOO was stiff not to win first-up and that Triggerfish form does look strong. BLUE BY YOU an improver with shades on. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – REACTION WIN Race 4 MASSA MAC has contested two tougher assignments than this so far this preparation and can improve sharply. BROWSING should get every chance at 1200 from the inside gate and she won extremely well at this track first-up for the Hunter stable. CLASSIC JACK bolted in last start and looks capable of going on with it. CALBANESCO has been well below expectations since returning. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – MASSA MAC WIN Race 5 RED NOIRE comes back in trip, draws gate 1 and should have no excuse in this race. Been well supported at both runs so far this preparation without winning and he is nearly on his last chance. SUNSET PETE ran very well first-up and then was eased down in the late stages last start. Bounces back the Sunsetta. IT’S NOT TRADING will run a big race when leading sometime soon when left alone in front. GLIMMER GIRL has never seen a race of this nature. Her form is exclusively in the metro area. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – RED NOIRE WIN Race 6 BINDAREE LADY is always extremely hard to beat first-up at Mt Barker over the 1100m. If she can jump and lead then they’ll be up against it trying to reel her in. PUCK SHAPESHIFTER looks in for a great campaign in these c70+ races at Barker and Albany. Going well. TRANQUILLA SUNRISE comes across from an outside gate to sit in the breeze or even pull on the leader. YOU WATCHING ME is a query in this grade but gets a soft run on the fence. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – BINDAREE LADY WIN Race 7 LONG KNIFE BROTHER comes back to the track and distance that he won well at first-up this campaign. Has blinkers added and should be right in the finish. ICE MAKER has hit form and if Edwards can find the fence he’ll run them along. MAGIC OPUS should prove a handy pick up for a quality Great Southern Stable. WAYCHINICUP is not the easiest horse to catch but first-up, no trial may be his go. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – LONG KNIFE BROTHER WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,5 1,3,4,6,7 3,5 4,5,6,7,9 Market Market
