Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on October 5, 2018 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets Race 3 No.4 Domed The rain has been falling heavily in Sydney suggesting we’ll be racing on a very heavy track at Randwick tomorrow, we need to look for the swimmers! This mare from the John Thompson stable is yet to start on a Heavy track however she’s had six goes on Soft ground for 2 wins and 3 placings. Drops in grade tomorrow and should run well at currently double figure odds. RACE 7 No.12 Frankely Awesome Certainly a huge step to go from a couple of provincial wins at Newcastle at Scone to a group 1 Spring Champion at Randwick however this colt could well be up to the task. He’s looked outstanding at those two victories scoring with ease and it’s worth noting one of those came on a Soft (bordering Heavy) track. He’s in a very much in-form stable and is well worth a ‘throw at the stumps’. RACE 8 No.5 I Am Serious Chris Waller trained mare who holds a very solid overall record having won 7 of her 14 starts. Placed behind the very smart Avilius her last couple of starts she won’t have to put up with him tomorrow which will make life easier. Her record on wet ground is outstanding having been beaten only once in 7 starts on Soft/Heavy going. Looks the goods!
