Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on September 20, 2018September 25, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FREE MOVER didn’t beat a strong field in a midweek maiden and the rail out was assisting leaders that day but he won effortlessly. In the small field he rolls straight to the front again and will take some running down. MYSTERY MISS went back over a 1000m and came up along the cutaway. She bolted in and will open favorite. STARES ANDWHISPERS trailed very well and simply looked all at sea on a Heavy8. Big improver. STELLA ANNE should sit leaders back and run up along the fence. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – FREE MOVER WIN Race 2 ROCKON TOMMY should be in the red in a race like this. There are a lot of horses who have met their mark and are racing below their best whereas he is an up and coming, improving type. Can sit off them and be too classy. SETTLERS CREEK backs up off 7 days and has put together two excellent runs. He’ll be winning another very soon. ASTRONOMITE improved last start and maps to get another wonderful run in transit. RED PADDY surprised when stepping up to a mile last start, if he kicks like that again he’ll be cheeky. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – ROCKON TOMMY WIN Race 3 LITTLE RED ROMAN has not finished within 3.5 of the winner so far this preparation but strikes a very weak Saturday maiden and should roll straight to the front. With the scratching of Percentage Play looks as though he will control and can run a race. DUCK DUCK GOOSE was eye catching on debut, if the big girl can hold leader’s back it could be lights out. KESHENA was caught deep in the same race and the winner should come from that form reference. Winds up late. AMAYA should be right behind the speed. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – LITTLE RED ROMAN EACHWAY Race 4 PAGAN IMAGE has been ultra impressive at his past two starts and ran into the classy True Defender at his most recent. He will concede his main and realistically only rival a head start but the mile looks right up his alley. SOPHIE’S SONG was able to walk them for 800m and then sprint home the final 500 to record a soft win. Leader and one to run down. COCKNEY CREW was well supported last start and gave a great sight out in front. KRAKKAS is building and just needs more ground. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – PAGAN IMAGE WIN Race 5 BATTLE STORM was all the rage last start and he bolted in. They ran strong time in the first 600 of that race so he can definitely hold a position from the gate and should run over them and announce himself as progressive sprinter. NIGHT VOYAGE is going enormous at the minute. Unfortunately he’ll end up three deep the trip yet again. NICCATRICE should come across the from the gate and sit prominently. TIME TO TRADE leads them and will be there for a long time. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – BATTLE STORM WIN Race 6 ELECTRIC LIGHT is a mare going places. She has an electric turn of foot and this race looks another perfect assignment for her to make it four on the bounce. Sits midfield and then unleashes late. THE CELT has won twice off the 7 day back up, drops in grade and trip and was very impressive against Man Booker who is a genuine A-Grader. REYKJAVIK should slide forward to sit outside likely leader Lord Sherwood, if he does cross his chances improve tenfold. BIG CAROLINE is racing in career best form but will always concede them a big headstart. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – ELECTRIC LIGHT WIN Race 7 PEPPIJACK found the step up to Saturday grade a bit tough last start when he was on the fence and chasing a very hot speed. He can definitely be forgiven for that effort and drawn off the fence looks a positive for him. KING BLITZ has been all the rage since his enormous victory over a subsequent winner. He could be something special. ARCTIC STREAM returned first-up, no trial with 59.5kg on a Heavy8. This is a far more suitable assignment. LITTLE FISH faces his acid test. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – PEPPIJACK EACHWAY Race 8 PYM’S ROYALE was caught in the breeze, 5 lengths off the leader trying to tow the field with 60.5kg. That form alongside Electric Light and Mantime now looks brilliant and he drops 2kg and lobs straight into the 1×1. COUNT TOMOZ OFF was a query at 1400m and ran serious time out in front. He was a big effort and sits in the box seat here. TURBO POWER chased hard in that same race and it should prove a strong form reference, just maps awkwardly. PINSSON is always a chance of finishing off into the minor money. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – PYM’S ROYALE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 7 2,5 1,2,3,6,8 1,5 Market Market
