Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 18, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 LIGHT MY DAY was a strong winner last start, is a big type who should lump the weight and either leads or sits outside the leader. Has to go close again. WHAT ABOUT MOSES was unable to reel in Light Up My Day when they met a fortnight ago. Gets a 1kg weight swing and another lovely run in transit. LADY AMEERA was afforded no favours early in her debut when she had to be dragged back to last and over raced. Forgive that effort. ONYA HEAD improved last start. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – LIGHT MY DAY WIN Race 2 ARCADIA QUEEN will be all the rage after Bob Peters labeled her the best of his 3 year old fillies this season. If she’s ever vulnerable it will be on debut over 1200m and could be conceding her main rival a head start. She does looks well above average but is risky at the David Shorttes. COLOURFUL CHLOE trialed without blinkers and was an effortless winner of her most recent. Would make this a race if she crossed to lead. BARBIE WILL DO has trialed excellently on both occasions this time in. Well worth following going forwards. MISS MANDY is going well but keeps running into quality opposition. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – ARCADIA QUEEN WIN Race 3 SCENIC CHARM lead them up in her recent trial with blinkers on and was travelling. Looks as though she can find the fence on debut and make them chase. Definitely a winning chance. WAKAN TANKA was very well supported at his most recent and it looks as though Steven Parnham has selected him over of the stablemate. Gets a lovely run from the gate and that form has been enhanced with Seconda Vita’s win Saturday. CITY CIRCLE hit the line hard behind Wise Monkey on debut. Further improved for the run. FINAL HEARING had no luck in his trial but may need further. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – SCENIC CHARM WIN Race 4 SAETTA has not been fully tested in either of her warm up trials. Should box seat just behind the lead and falls into a very winnable race first-up as a three year old. LUCKY LINDA LULU ran into the ultra talented Dance Music last start, beat the rest of the field home and just needs luck from the gate. MR UNDERCOVER has only won 1 from 14 but taken on some very talented opposition in his time. Pike is white hot and he’ll get every chance. DEMTIMES was well backed second-up and ran an impressive race. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – SAETTA WIN Race 5 PATAPUS was bitterly disappointing last start but couldn’t tick any more boxes in this race. Back in grade, back in trip and Tayla Stone engaged on a leader. Stone is going at 35% in September and Patapus has 1000m form around Dia De La Raza and Mantime. DAM READY has shown nothing in two starts but looks to spin the wheels in the soft going. Dry track, drawn 1, blinkers on, Smith on. Big improver. DESERT THORN only has Broome form but will keep punching deep. FRATERNIZE was impressive at trials and has the speed to right over the leaders. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – PATAPUS WIN Race 6 ABELDANE was never a winning hope last Thursday when unable to lead in an extremely fast run race. Backs up off 6 days and if Emma Stent can find the front and let him run from the 800 he will be very hard to run down. NAVY BLUE does look the logical danger on paper. Blinkers on, Pike on and beat him home last week. Just tends to get back and do a fair bit wrong in his races. AXEL ‘R’ EIGHT won’t enjoy the same run as last start but can stay. BURNING PRIDE is up sharply in trip but capable when right. Numbers: 1 – 12 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – ABELDANE EACHWAY Race 7 POINT looked home last start but just peaked on his run in the last 50 when Flying Roar got past him on the inside. Will get back and is always a risky betting proposition but going well enough to win a very even race. FLYING ROAR simply had to win last start, best placement by a trainer in a long time and duly saluted. Query at the mile and has a habit of missing away. RUSSIAN RIVER is building with every run and this is a drop in grade. DOUBLE DIGIT is always a chance at this grade. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – POINT EACHWAY Race 8 NICCONI’S BOY backs up off 7 days and has improved at every run. Ran into the talented duo King Blitz and Peppijack and then was a strong effort last week. Moderate race, he gets his chance. DOLUSKY was first-up from a long time away from the track and hit the line very well in a race far tougher than this. THE REAL ZEEL was well thought of last start but was unable to get into a race run at well below average tempo. MOTORVATOR will be back in a fair bit of traffic but if he gets the splits has a sharp turn of foot. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – NICCONI’S BOY EACHWAY Race 9 RECHARGER has been going great guns since Emma Stent started letting him roll. Should bounce straight to the top drawn gate 1 and from there he controls the tempo in a race where most of his rivals are back-markers. SEASIDE SERENADE will find this a lot easier than her most recent in a strong Saturday grade race. From the gate could be a long way off them. THISAWAY is in a similar boat. Up in trip to suit, reunited with Jarrad Noske and back in grade but could spot the leader over 10 lengths. SAINT STEPHEN has hit a purple patch and draws well. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – RECHARGER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,12 1,2,3,4,6,7,10 1,3,4,6,10 2,4,7,10,11 Market Market
