Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on August 28, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 LEAGUE OF NATIONS is extremely well placed by team Gangemi who are striking at 23% since June. Drops back into a Class 1 and should be able to sit in the breeze and simply prove too classy. Deserves to be odds on and if there is a query it would be the track condition. STRIP THE MOON should lead them up and the bubble cheeker should help Pateman keep him straight rounding the corner. CLEVER DICK looks likely to be the midfield chaser. CHASER gets back but does look the best of the rest. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – LEAGUE OF NATIONS WIN Race 2 IZ THAT RIGHT has to lump a full 59kg which is always a concern but over 1000m it is less of an issue. Her form last preparation around the likes of Shania Style, Finally French, Chesten Flyer and Oregon Bronze sees her hard to beat first-up. ZEDSTORM has speed and should lead them up if they can get her into the gates. Definite winning chance on debut. FRIAR’S FANCY is drawn awkwardly for her return and may have to roll forward. MEKONG DEN ran some big races last preparation and should break her maiden soon. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – IZ THAT RIGHT WIN Race 3 STARES ANDWHISPERS has to put together two ultra impressive trials. The most recent sitting in the breeze and a sitting duck to be run down in a very fast run trial. Expecting him to roll forwards and be hard to get past. METRO BOY is the logical on paper having been held up the majority of the straight in Saturday grade and finishing within 3L of some impressive types. PRINCESS SHARI has been impressive at both trials. SCHIMMEL improved out of sight with the shades added and likely looks to find the fence. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – STARES ANDWHISPERS WIN Race 4 I’M PRETTY looks to have struck a very weak and winnable maiden. Held up at crucial stages in the home straight on debut and should only be improved for the experience. Drawn perfectly and looks to have a bit on these. FLAGSTICK dropping back from a mile and draw a gate to sit close handy looks the danger. LUCKY ESCAPE was well supported first-up and hit the line hard. MOONDA MISS should again enjoy the run of the race. Numbers: 13 – 7 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – I’M PRETTY WIN Race 5 REVEILLE drops out of a quality Saturday race which has produced two subsequent winners and another beaten a nose. Second-up, back in grade, Pike on. Ticks a lot of boxes. PEPPIJACK has gone from strength to strength and has now announced himself as a progressive Saturday type. Big win last week and no reason why he can’t reproduce. VERMONT LADY stepping up in trip looks suited and is another who will appreciate the class drop. BARAKI BEATS hasn’t been sighted in months but at a huge price can’t be discounted. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – REVEILLE WIN Race 6 KIA ORA STAR looked the winner for the majority of the race last start. The more it rains over the next 24 hours the better for him. Pike abandons ship but Shaun McGruddy has been riding well for a long period. THE ENCHANTRESS is gunning for 3 wins on the bounce and Liz Strempel has had 6 winners from her past 8 runners to the races. 75% winning strike rate, huge. MIDNIGHT DRAMA is a last start winner in good time but this race is tougher opposition and very even. SPIN ON COMMAND was good first-up without a trial. Interesting to see if they utilize her speed and attempt to lead here. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – KIA ORA STAR WIN Race 7 REBELLIONAIRE has always promised a lot more than he has delivered but think he has endured a few issues. Darren McAuliffe’s stable has been flying for 18 months and he trialed well. ARCTIC STREAM has contested far harder than this since breaking his maiden. Classy type and 100% the best looking type you will see all day. SHOUHOU hit the line hard first-up and has ability. ANOTHER STORY makes her own luck in front and should find the fence here. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 12 – 10 Suggested Bet – REBELLIONAIRE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 13 3,4 1,2,3,4,5,6,8 1,3 Market Market
