Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on August 21, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 VENGEANCE OF WAR has trialed extremely greenly for his debut. In both recent trials William Pike has been forced to pull the whip into his left hand and straighten the youngster multiple times. If Glenn Smith can keep him balanced and straight he looks to have ability. HOTHAM VALLEY deserves favoritism but will be nearly odds on. Very short in what is a maiden. LOCOMOTIVE trialed well behind one who might be a nice type. ZETORIO hit the line well in a fast run trial. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – VENGEANCE OF WAR EACHWAY Race 2 TRAMONTANE trialed exceptionally well and was never taken out of first gear. Think there will be plenty of support for him and the way Mitch Pateman is riding at the minute he will be given every possible chance from the gun draw leading or box seating. LOOKOUT has been a model of consistency since, yet to run a bad race and this is his easiest assignment to date. The concern is the gate and just where Steven Parnham gets to. REGAL POWER sat behind two speedy types at trials and ran straight past them. That time was slick and he is regally bred. NICKLAUS can roll forwards and make his own luck. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRAMONTANE EACHWAY Race 3 WISE MONKEY has some nice maiden form lines from last preparation. Scratched last Thursday for a far more suitable race here. They should get their chance to wind up three deep for a rarity at Belmont and he looks hard to beat. HAMADA trialed well when showing an impressive turn of foot. Jason Whiting elects to ride over Wise Monkey. FREE MOVER will have a lot of supporters, Simon Miller debutant with blinkers on drawn to lead. ARNO THE FOX resumes off a nice trial for a stable who is firing on all cylinders. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 12 – 3 Suggested Bet – WISE MONKEY EACHWAY Race 4 MR ALBY was good enough first-up over the sprinting trip behind a few handy types and then never in the contest on a Heavy8. This race is extremely weak and he gets a chance. LANGLEY falls into the most suitable race he has seen in WA. Trialed well over the 1450 and back onto a Good track should suit him. Maps to sit 1 out, 1 back and get every possible. ORBIT THE SUN leads and is the one to run down. ARMOURER is never far away from the minor money. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – MR ALBY EACHWAY Race 5 SATURIA is again extremely well placed after the 2kg claim for Kate Witten. Was caught three and four deep the trip last Wednesday and batted on admirably. Has always been more of a 1000m horse and if she jumps they’ll battle to beat her. INCREDIBLE HULK draws a gate and is down in class from recent assignments. YOU AM I trialed very well and should be right on top of the speed at his return. WEST FIFTY FOURTH ran well first-up but doesn’t map anywhere near as soft as he did in that. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SATURIA WIN Race 6 DARK PROSPECT has taken on and beaten bigger and better types than what he meets first-up. Trialed well with the shades on and should sit right behind the speed here and be hard to roll fresh. PEPPIJACK has gone from strength to strength this campaign. Can roll forwards or snag back and is going great. CUBITT AND CUNDY rolled along at a cracking tempo last week, on the quick back-up can give cheek. RUBIA MISS looks better suited now that the track has dried out. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – DARK PROSPECT WIN Race 7 MORE BXAAR was luckless first-up in a quality Saturday line up, blistering second-up and then never a chance on a rain affected track where you needed to be close to the speed to figure in the finish. Eachway all day here. MISS UNFORGETTABLE comes straight from a maiden victory but does look the one to beat in a weak race. MIDNIGHT DRAMA has been going alright since joining Jason Miller. Glenn Smith back on a positive. MY KIND OF MUSIC went close last start and should again box seat. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – MORE BXAAR EACHWAY Race 8 FIRE MAKER is a query at the trip and drawn to do it tough but there is sufficient speed in this race to string them out and for Lucy to find cover. Went well in a quality Saturday race last start. SCOTTISH TRADER maps to get a perfect run over the speed and is rarely beaten far. BOMBS AWAY is the best horse in the race but may have to tramp deep. GENERAL HUSSON breaks through eventually and is going so well without winning. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – FIRE MAKER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,4,5,7 2,3 2,3,6,7,8 1,3,4,5,6,10 Market Market
