Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on July 4, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 STORMY ORA finally gets her chance to break through. Drawn perfectly for Jason Brown and comes out of a strongly run 1100m race where she stuck on well. Sits close to the speed and should be hard to beat. IN THE MOSH PIT comes from the same race and could go round at big figures. Worth considering at odds, run was far better than reads on paper. VITAL TOUCH continues to run placings without saluting. BLACK RUBY ROSE likely leads or box seats and there is a cutaway option. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – STORMY ORA WIN Race 2 HONGLONG was hitting the line well over an unsuitable trip first-up. Steps up in trip, drawn perfectly and can sit a lot closer than she did first-up. DREAM STREAM has an important gear change made and if he can race more tractably then has shown well above average ability. LOVE STRIKES ended up in a tough position to win from last start. Tends to get back in running so you image he’ll have to wait for the cutaway. STRATUM PASS hit the line hard last start and is one who can show gate speed. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – HONGLONG WIN Race 3 TYCOON MIKADO got back in a race which was dominated by those on speed and up along the fence. Definitely pay to forgive the debut effort and previous trial was strong. Step up in trip looks ideal. MYSTERY AFFAIR comes from the same race and was one of those gallopers who made strong ground up along the rail. LITTLE RED ROMAN has shown a bit at every run in its short career and trialed well for his return. AL’S FAMOUS is one for novelty players, should be a big price. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – TYCOON MIKADO EACHWAY Race 4 MARTARELLO has not shown anywhere near the same level of ability as we saw glimpses of last preparation. This is a weak maiden and with Shaun O’Donnell returning to the saddle looks worth a spec. BELLFLOWER may sneak under the radar to an extent having been beaten in a Kalgoorlie maiden but looks one of the few on pacers. JINDA NINJA was solid on debut and should be improved for that effort especially drawn to settle closer. ROLL THE GOODTIMES has blinkers added, tongue tie added and Pike added. Numbers: 10 – 8 – 12 – 6 Suggested Bet – MARTARELLO EACHWAY Race 5 GEOGRAPHE BAY made good ground late in a fast run race behind Soulsana two starts ago and then backed it up with a strong late burst in the worst part of the track last start. Gets his chance here. FLAT BICCY has run well at both runs this preparation from a long break. Drawn to get back in the run but Paul Harvey on is a big positive. SPIRITED SNITZEL gets a good run from the gate, should know by race 5 how the fence is playing. MAKE MINE CHAMPERS was well supported last start, may be better suited back in trip. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – GEOGRAPHE BAY WIN Race 6 LORD LUDLOW was attacked a long way from home last start. Should bounce straight to the top here and when Jason Brown is able to control proceedings he is always hard to run down. SUPERIOR SMILE has his 5th run in almost a month but is ever consistent and should enjoy the run of the race from the gate. BATTLE TORQUE will be hard to beat if they’re winding up down the extreme outside again. GRAND CADEAU was a little disappointing first-up. He slides forward to race prominent. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – LORD LUDLOW EACHWAY Race 7 KLEVA KEZZA is back in grade, back in trip and regular rider Shaun O’Donnell is back aboard. Comes from a strongly run mile and there are very few legitimate dangers. Keen on her. NO ORDINARY GIRL put up the white flag very quickly last start when leading, previous form was sound. NIAYCHI is hard to catch but on his day has a nice turn of foot. SENSE OF POWER had consistent form over this trip and beyond last preparation, expect improvement on her first up run. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – KLEVA KEZZA WIN Race 8 CARAZORO has no numerical form so far this preparation but each run has been an improvement on the previous. Jason Whiting takes his first ride and that could give him another couple of lengths. Should be cricket score odds and worth quaddie inclusion. PURE GEM was finishing off well last start and with Pike engaged is sure to be well in the market. SMALLAMOUNTOFMERIT is honest and consistent but continues to spot the leaders over 10 lengths turning for home. HALUSHI is building towards another win and will get one soon. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – CARAZORO EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,4,10,11 1,2,3,4 2 1,4,7,10,13 Market Market
