Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on June 5, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MYSTERY AFFAIR looked to have plenty in the tank at the trials when held up in behind horses. Trialed well enough to give this a shake. SPECIAL REWARD trialed like an absolute bomb and should lead or box seat with a cutaway in play. He will be heavily in the red. KORANIS never really saw daylight on debut and went to the line under a hold. Can definitely run third. CHASING THE ACE has been solid at every career outing. Numbers: 10 – 5 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – KORANIS PLACE Race 2 FINALLY FRENCH could easily be undefeated after 4 starts. Been equally as impressive at all of them and has shown versatility. Was huge when running second to Shania Style and gets a 3kg swing on that galloper. If he opens in the black many will run with that. SHANIA STYLE is unlikely to be able to hold out the speedy Citichant so likely sits outside it or works hard to hold the fence. GOLDEN TRIGGER can run a race up along the cutaway first-up no trial. CITICHANT next best. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – FINALLY FRENCH WIN Race 3 FAST AS THE WIND does look a real cutaway type of horse. If she can hold leaders back or even settle three back the fence she has the shortest and sharpest turn of foot in the race and can sprint up the fence to win. MONTAGNA will be winning his fair share of these midweek type staying races. Getting close to another victory. MIDNIGHT BANQUET won two on the bounce before being a shade disappointing his last two. Needs this type of trip. WESTERN STAR could grind them into the ground if it continues to rain relentlessly. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – FAST AS THE WIND WIN Race 4 NORDIC KING opened up ludicrously short in Saturday grade last start and is almost certain to jump odds on here. He does however look a progressive type who will eat up the ground. ALTAMONT was badly blocked at every stage in the same race and with more luck can figure. THE RAKE found traffic last start and can improve sharply. MATER REMEDY has been below his best so far this campaign. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ALTAMONT PLACE Race 5 OUTSTRETCH has form which is probably better than simply 1 win and 4 minors from 14 starts. First-up no trial with Jarrad Noske engaged on a rain affected track can definitely run a race at odds in an evenly graded affair. WOODBUG was a handy debut winner and far from disgraced at two starts since. DEEP COVER has pace to burn and should charge across from the gate. THUNDERPLUMP trialed well for her return and should be right there in the finish. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – OUTSTRETCH EACHWAY Race 6 KING LOUIE was eye catching at his first start for the Paige Kenney stable. Was held up until passing the 150 and then changed direction a number of times to hit the line like a steam train. Pike gets him into the clear and he goes close. THE GOSPEL SIN was solid in a strong Saturday race first-up from a break. He is a consistent type. KEEPER’S TALE has always looked a wet tracker and should appreciate the cut out of the ground. STRATOCREED sits right on speed and goes close again. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – KING LOUIE WIN SuperPick - Race 6 No. 3 King Louie - Win Boost Race 7 SONG OF VINCENT belted moderate opposition to break his maiden tag first-up and then ran into a very good one in Trakiato last week. Expect that form to hold up and Tayla Stone will have him leading or ready to shoot up the cutaway. FREO was well supported in Saturday grade second-up and ran a big race three deep with cover the trip. He’ll likely sit off the track again. LOVE ALWAYS could be one at odds to run an improved race. KELLY’S GEM was fairly disappointing after her maiden win but looks a nice filly in the making. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 12 – 8 Suggested Bet – SONG OF VINCENT EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,6 1,2,3,5 1,3,4,5 1,3 Bet Now
