Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on July 16, 2024July 16, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Expect heavy ground with significant rain leading into the meeting. NDOLA had jumped out well on soft ground prior to his impressive debut. LAST DRUID won well on soft ground first up and the form through his first prep has measured up ok. BUCKINGHAM PALACE was disadvantaged by a slow get away last time. LOVELYCUT jumped out nicely on soft ground prior to her debut victory. Selections: 3,2,1,11 Suggested Bet: Ndola each way Race 2 KISSED EARTH will strip fitter third up and should be strong late coming back to 1400m. ONGATITI has jumped out well for the Maher stable since crossing from NZ. EASTWATCH will also strip fitter third up and stuck on well last time on soft 6. MANHATTAN VIEW will roll forward and give a sight. Selections: 12,7,2,13 Suggested Bet: Kissed Earth to win Race 3 SEA OF LIGHTS rises in grade from her dominant maiden win but shapes as a filly with plenty of upside and seems to handle rain-affected ground well. NOADCHI is fit, consistent and can make her own luck. SOCIALLY SASSY has had excuses at her last couple. SAVILLA displayed good fight to win last start and gets B.Shinn. Selections: 6,1,7,5 Suggested Bet: Sea Of Lights to win Race 4 Competitive race. FAMOSO won well in maiden company two starts back and should appreciate getting back to 1200m. EXTREME THREAT resumes following throat surgery, she’s jumped out quite well and has shown above average ability. JAKIVY is a miden but it would be no shock to see him fighting out the finish. RIPROAR, NUTS ‘N’ BOLTS and BOLTSAVER have claims. Selections: 4,2,9,3 Suggested Bet: Famoso each way Race 5 AWAPUNI PRINCESS is racing well and gives the impression she’ll run 1400m. JUSTDOIT held her ground well in a stronger race last start and is a heavy track winner. FREE WILLED will strip fitter third up and is also a heavy track winner. QUITE THE LASS may be looking for further but did enough first up and will be strong late. FIASCO TESS and LIBICA are among the other winning hopes. Selections: 1,5,11,4 Suggested Bet: Awapuni Princess each way Race 6 SHE’S A CON appeared to have her chance last week but she’ll strip fitter for a run over the trip and loves it wet. REBADGE didn’t have the best of luck last time and will appreciate the rise in trip. MYERS REWARD is flying for the new stable. FIRE GLO TOO has returned in good form and races well here. Selections: 11,6,10,2 Suggested Bet: She’s a Con each way Race 7 CHEVAL CHIC has changed stables since luckless run last start and brings a strong wet track record. LAYERUPONLAYER has raced well since returning to Australia and been kept up to the mark with a jumpout between runs. JACK OF IT stuck on well in a strong race last time and loves heavy ground. HOLA AMIGOS was held up at a crucial stage last start. ABADDON will be charging late. Not sure how wet HANAU wants it but would include him if he runs. Selections: 15,6,2,13 Suggested Bet: Cheval Chic each way Race 8 MARGIE’S BOY is racing in great form and seems to relish heavy ground. MAGARTEN has been most consistent and will strip fitter for his first up win. REGAL ZEUS stuck on well in a strong race first up and should’ve derived improvement from that run. FLY LIE is fit and consistent. HUGHES and HEYWOOD have claims in another competitive race. Selections: 2,1,6,10 Suggested Bet: Margie’s Boy each way Market Market
