Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Geelong Preview Posted on October 24, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Competitive start. KING’S CROSSING will strip fitter for his latest run, he’ll appreciate the rise in trip and races well here. ROCKEBY ROAD showed versatility stepping up to this trip last time and should be further improved by the run at this distance. GARACHICO has been progressing well since his local debut and gives the impression 2400m will suit. ARAVENE is hard fit and is another that gives the impression that this trip will suit. DASHING DUCHESS takes rise in grade but has upside. Selections: 6,5,1,3 Suggested Bet: King’s Crossing each way Race 2 MORNINGTON GLORY has jumped out nicely since his first run for the new stable and the form out of that race has held up well. GRINZINGER ANGEL has returned in great form and will make her own luck. UNLIMITED MAGIC has been kept fresh since her encouraging return and will appreciate the extra 100m. CAVALLO RAMPANTE is fit, consistent and had no luck last start. Selections: 10,14,12,13 Suggested Bet: Morning Glory each way Race 3 MR MOJO RISIN’ will strip fitter second up and appreciate the slight rise in distance. PANTELONE chased well last time and also looks suited stepping up to 1300m. BODINHO is racing well, he gets blinkers back on and drops in grade. HARBIN ran well in the same race as Boldinho last start and has jumped out in great style since. Selections: 8,11,3,5 Suggested Bet: Mr Mojo Rising each way Race 4 BRAZEN LADY is racing in great heart and the Wishlor Lass form from a couple of runs back reads well. She gets winkers off and drops in grade. GIRL also has the Wishlor Lass form, there wasn’t much between her and Brazen Lady in that race. LOVAZOU takes a rise in grade but has upside and won well here first up. OUTTA COMPTON was below market expectations last start, he looked smart winning first up and swaps winkers for blinkers. Selections: 7,9,14,12 Suggested Bet: Brazen Lady each way Race 5 DULCET is shaping as a promising stayer and look hard to beat here on his way to the Derby. WAVERLEY is in the right stable for a progressive stayer and gives the impression that 2200m will suit. SACRED EAGLE showed good fight and some tactical versatility to score at his latest run. SERVED COLD may not have been suited leading with the pattern of the day at Flemington last start. Selections: 3,1,2,7 Suggested Bet: Dulcet to win Race 6 BOH RHAP is flying, he hit the line in typically strong fashion last start and should appreciate the extra 100m. FALCON OF MALTA has been kept fresh for this, he’ll make his own luck and should prove hard to run down. ROMANTIC CHARM won a Sandown Guineas here as a three year old generally runs well first up. NEW YORK HURRICANE, ALBANIAN I AM and UNIQELY have claims in a deep race. Selections: 4,3,2,8 Suggested Bet: Boh Rhap each way Race 7 Once again FIRST IMMORTAL will need some luck from the draw but was responsible for an outstanding run in the Bart Cummings and looks hard to beat with that luck. ASHRUN improved nicely second up from a long break in the Bart Cummings and should be further improved. VIRTUOUS CIRCLE was one of the unlucky runners in Bart Cummings and looks a strong winning hope. SPANISH MISSION has done more than enough in his two runs back and will appreciate the step up to 2400m. AMADE defied his starting price in the Bart Cummings and will strip fitter third up. Selections: 13,2,7,1 Suggested Bet: First Immortal to win Race 8 SANDPAPER didn’t have the clearest of passages first up and should still be fresh enough to stay at 1200m. MERIDUIS resumes gelded and has jumped out well. EXTREME STEP is racing in great form and should get a good run behind the speed. SANDY PRINCE may prefer it wetter but is another that has jumped out well to resume. ZAC DE BOSS and BELSIELLE have claims. Selections: 4,3,8,10 Suggested Bet: Sandpaper to win Race 9 VON HAUKE is a progressive horse and ran well at stakes level last start. ELECTIC IMPULSE won well over 1200m last start and should be even better suited at 1500m. TYPHOON HARMONY has jumped out well since an encouraging return and will appreciate the extra 200m. BELTHIL is building a handy record and backs up from a strong win at Caulfield. ROGUE ROCKER has been kept fresh and the form through Rheinberg is strong. Selections: 6,7,1,3 Suggested Bet: Von Hauke each way Market Market
