Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Ballarat Preview Posted on April 2, 2024April 2, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty of rain leading up to the meeting, so assuming we’ll be on rain-affected ground. TOGETHERFOREVER looks the one to beat at short odds. She’s trialled well on wet ground and has been consistent in her career to date. TWICE AS VAIN has race fitness and ran ok last second up. PER SEMPRE has jumped out well to resume. Selections: 4,5,2,1 Suggested Bet: Togetherforever to will but will be short Race 2 MR ASSERTIVE ran well on debut and the winner of that race has won again since. ROOM FOR BINGO also performed creditably on debut in a maiden of some depth. CAPITAL ROCK was heavily backed when disappointing on debut, she’s jumped out well to kick off her second prep. SMART RETURN has trialled nicely for her return to the track. Selections: 2,8,4,10 Suggested Bet: Mr Assertive to win Race 3 SNACK BAR hit the line strongly on debut and should appreciate 1200m. NARBOLD has jumped out well for his debut alongside Harpalee, who defeated Snack Bar. CHOSEN LEGEND was well behind Snack Bar first up but was well supported and capable of improving. FURRINA has trialled in good style for her debut. HEAVENBENT is likely to improve into her second campaign based on her jumpouts. Selections: 6,3,10,9 Suggested Bet: Snack Bar to win Race 4 JAY BEE ELL has trialled well to debut at what appears to be a suitable trip. HIGH FIVE brings some solid NZ form and has trialled ok in SA for his Australian debut. VILLACH stuck on ok behind a smart one first up and will appreciate stepping up in trip. EPICE DIEU will strip fitter third up and will also appreciate 1400m. Selections: 4,3,9,1 Suggested Bet: Jay Bee Ell each way Race 5 LIBERTY STATE broke her maiden in impressive fashion second up and the form through Sunshineinmypocket through her previous run reads well. FREEDOM ESCAPE has been trialling well and looks primed for a first up tilt. UNDER THE PALAIS is consistent and gets down in the weights. KIMMORLEY kicks off at a suitable trip and handles wet ground. Selections: 8,5,10,6 Suggested Bet: Liberty State to win Race 6 GOTTABESAVVY may be suited coming back in trip. He’s comfortable on rain-affected ground and the form through his latest run held up well at Sandown on Easter Monday. FRIDAY AT FIVE also handles wet ground, she drops in grade and can make her own luck. MERCANTE will appreciate stepping up to this trip and has been placed here on soft ground. SACRED BULL hit the line strongly last start and has also been placed on soft ground. MIDNIGHT GLOW and CHEVAL SAVANT have claims. Selections: 3,5,7,8 Suggested Bet: Gottabesavvy each way Race 7 ZOUSUKO was trapped in the worst part of the track on the Heath track last start and is drawn to have clear air over the concluding stages. ROSE OF SHALAA has been competitive in stronger races and has been jumping out ok to resume. MISS MILHOUS is another that was caught in inferior ground on the Heath track and is a heavy track winner. BELLINI MISS will be strong late. REFRESHING had excuses first up and handles wet ground well. Selections: 4,9,5,1 Suggested Bet: Zousuko each way Race 8 Wide finish. NICCOLITE won well at her first run for the new stable and seems to go even better on wet ground. MANTUA has jumped out well since an ok return behind an in-form galloper. PRINCE SONIC improved nicely to score second up and will strip even fitter. TOOMPINE has been kept fresh since a strong first up win. LADY CEDERBERG, I MISS MARGIE, SHORESY and IMAPAGETHREE GIRL are among the other hopes. Selections: 2,14,5,6 Suggested Bet: Niccolite each way Market Market
