Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on September 12, 2024September 12, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 NADAL has jumped out in great style to resume gelded and was competitive in some strong races during his three year old season. ZOURION looked sharp jumping out with blinkers on recently and is a previous first up winner. BARAQIEL has obvious upside and has jumped out well after a freshen. MOONHAVEN chased a subsequent Group 1 winner last start after an impressive win here. SCHEELITE resumes gelded and has been jumping out well, as has MOBY DICK. Selections: 4,12,1,5 Suggested Bet: Nadal each way Race 2 WONDER BOY will strip fitter third up and gives the impression he’ll relish the step up to 1400m. DAGGERS has been impressive in his two victories to date and gives the impression 1400m will be ok. DAWN SERVICE was no match for promising filly in Sydney last time but he’s jumped out well since arriving in Melbourne and will make his own luck. DETROIT CITY has trialled well to resume and is one of a few in this field with genuine upside. Selections: 1,2,5,3 Suggested Bet: Wonder Boy to win Race 3 DRIFTING will strip fitter for an emphatic first up win and has handled the straight well. TOBEORNOTTOBE is a straight track winner and has been jumping out in good style to resume. BOLD BASTILLE has a victory down the straight over Drifting to her credit and will strip fitter for her first up run behind a subsequent Group q1 winner. MANOLO BLING and KUROYANAGI have claims. Selections: 1,3,4,7 Suggested Bet: Drifting to win Race 4 Great race but GROWING EMPIRE has a bit of X Factor and if he handles the straight track he looks the hardest to beat. FIRST SETTLER has looked promising, he’s already a straight track winner and has jumped out well between runs. HIGH OCTANE measured up well during his two year old season. He’s trialled well with winkers on since not having the best of luck first up. NDOLA takes another rise in grade but will be strong late on the fresh side. RESERVE BANK and DUBLIN DOWN have displayed good talent and have jumped out in good style to resume. Selections: 1,7,4,9 Suggested Bet: Growing Empire to win Race 5 BERKSHIRE BREEZE was below his best last time but has jumped out well between runs and wouldn’t be surprised to see him ridden a touch quieter. POINT KING impressed winning an easier race at his first run for the new stable and is open to improvement. HORRIFYING has been terrific since his poor run at Warrnambool proved too good for Berkshire Breeze last time. VOW AND DECLARE will strip fitter and appreciate getting back to Flemington and up in trip. POST IMPRESSIONIST is sure to be improved by his first run for the new stable behind Horrifying. DASHING DUCHESS is hard fit and has been impressive winning easier races. Selections: 6,8,3,1 Suggested Bet: Berkshire Breeze to win Race 6 HOLYMANZ will strip fitter third up and may have not been suited in a leader dominated race last start. NICOLINI VITO comes through some strong races, he doesn’t run poorly maps for a good run. BANK MAUR was back to something like his best first up. I’m prepared to forgive most of his Flemington runs, as they’ve been in stronger company and at 1600-2000m. DEVOTED ran as well as he could last week after being slowly away and can improve dramatically with a clean get away. Selections: 5,4,8,13 Suggested Bet: Holymanz each way Race 7 WOLLOMBI was luckless behind QUINTESSA in a key lead up race, both should appreciate 1400m and shape as leading contenders again. SEE YOU IN HEAVEN is a quality mare who races well here and will be close to peak fitness third up. VAGRANT will also strip fitter third up and stuck on ok in Group 1 company second up. ALSEPHINA has trialled well in WA. Selections: 7,1,3,4 Suggested Bet: Wollombi each way Race 8 Intriguing race. VIA SISTINA has been outstanding in her runs since arriving in Australia and should appreciate stepping up to 1600m second up. MR BRIGHTSIDE has been a benchmark Group 1 WFA galloper in recent times and is sure to have derived benefit from his good return in the Memsie. PRIDE OF JENNI has to be given another chance with her solid second up record and stepping up to 1600m. PINSTRIPED won the Memsie on his merits, so must have a case again. ATISHU goes well here and will strip fitter for her first up run behind Via Sistina. Selections: 8,1,6,2 Suggested Bet: Via Sistina to win Race 9 RIGHT TO PARTY has developed a great affinity with the straight course, she stays down in the weights and has trialled well between runs. SANS DOUTE is another with a great straight record and will strip fitter for chasing a subsequent Group 1 winner first up. STRETAN ANGEL handles the straight well and has jumped out in great fashion to resume. BUENOS NOCHES and SPACEWALK have been trialling well in NSW. Selections: 9,12,11,4 Suggested Bet: Right To Party each way Same Race Multi: Right To Party (Top 2) + Sans Doute (Top 4) Race 10 MILFORD has been jumping out in great style and looks suited kicking off over 1700m in a race that should have a decent tempo. KING MAGNUS has been freshened, he should appreciate coming back in trip and has jumped out well between runs. POSITIVITY ran well first up, she may be looking for slightly further but has a touch of class. BERKELEY SQUARE did enough first up and will appreciate stepping up to 1700m on a spacious track Selections: 4,3,11,6 Suggested Bet: Milford each way Market Market
