Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on August 2, 2024August 2, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 STOLEN KISS stuck on ok after covering ground at stakes level at this trip in Adelaide and worked home strongly the start prior. WARPARTY had an easy kill last start and a number of his previous runs line up well here. DETROIT CITY looked good winning the Jack Maher Classic on debut and gives the impression 1400m will suit. KHABALOV is another that looks suited at 1400m. SCOUNDREL has got his career off to a good start in NSW and brings a different form line Selections: 9,4,1,6 Suggested Bet: Stolen Kiss each way Race 2 BERKSHIRE BREEZE looks destined for better staying races and should justify his short quote. HORRIFYING bounced back to something like his best last time and should strip even fitter. WERTHEIMER chased well behind Horrifying and will appreciate stepping up in distance. POST IMPRESSIONIST resumes for a new stable, he was most impressive at his Australian debut prior to failing on the back up at G1 WFA and should appreciate the drop in grade. Selections: 3,2,7,1 Suggested Bet: Berkshire Breeze to win Race 3 IN HER STRIDE is racing well and appears to like having her runs spaced. CINDY FALLS beat In Her Stride in the Leilani Final two starts back and looks suited coming back to 1400m. STREET DELIGHT rises in grade but gets some weight relief and has retuned in good form. ITHADTOBEZOU and ALPINE FLYER have claims. Selections: 4,3,6,5 Suggested Bet: In Her Stride each way Race 4 MIDTOWN BOSS has jumped out in typically good style and looks set to produce another explosive first up run down the straight. MAOTAI has been jumping out well for the new stable and also brings an impressive first up record. VELOCE CARRO is fit, races well down the straight and had some excuses last start. PROWLING will be better over slightly longer but has jumped out nicely and will be strong late. FORTUNATE KISS was given a solid hit out winning a recent jumpout for the new stable. Selections: 3,2,1,5 Suggested Bet: Midtown Boss to win Race 5 LE ZEBRA bounced back to his best to win impressively here last time and looks the one to beat again. RISE AT DAWN will make his own luck at gets a weight swing on Le Zebra for beating him home at his latest run. MIRACLE SPIN hit the line well last time and may settle closer with B.Shinn aboard. GENTIAN BLUE and STEP ASIDE have some claims. Selections: 6,3,1,9 Suggested Bet: Le Zebra to win Race 6 NICOLINI VITO has been kept fresh and jumped out nicely for the drop back to 1200m. RIGHT TO PARTY takes on older horses as a now four year old but comes out of her three year old season in great form and is most effective down the straight. ZARASTRO brings solid Qld form and should give them something to chase. THE ASTROLOGIST and CROSSHAVEN have claims in an even race. Selections: 4,8,1,3 Suggested Bet: Nicolini Vito each way Race 7 STAR VEGA is yet win beyond 1800m but gives the impression he’ll cop with 2000m. MY BROTHERS KEEPER doesn’t win out of turn but will be strong late. ST VINCENTS GARDEN had some excuses in Qld at his Australian debut and will strip fitter. LAUDING will also strip fitter, he’ll appreciate the rise in distance and raced in some restricted room first up. Selections: 11,13,8,3 Suggested Bet: Star Vega each way Same Race Multi: Star Vega (Top 2) + My Brothers Keeper (Top 4) Race 8 RHEINBERG is fit, consistent and seems at his best around this trip. WINDSTORM gets winkers back on and may be better suited dropping back from 1600m. ST LAWRENCE and ASTERO have form that ties in with Rheinberg and have obvious claims. GREEN FLY was below his best last week and gets blinkers back on. Selections: 4,5,7,3 Suggested Bet: Rheinberg each way Race 9 DAZZLING LUCY handles the straight well and has jumped out in good style between runs. HEURISTIC may need some luck from the inside draw and is yet to race down the straight but ran well behind an in-form galloper last start. BEWS has been kept fresh and gets the benefit of a claim. KIKO and SHAIME have claims in another open race. Selections: 9,5,2,8 Suggested Bet: Dazzling Lucy each way Market Market
