Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on March 29, 2024March 29, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 RICH FORTUNE hasn’t won this prep but gets in on the minimum weight and her form behind Imperatriz, Rey Magnerio and Katsu is hard to overlook. GIRL has retuned in great form and gets down in the weights for rising in grade. EITHER OAR brings some solid NSW form and dis plenty of work on the speed last start. LADY DI DI won well first up in easier company. LEMPICKA won well last time bur gets back up in the weights and her straight form is questionable. Selections: 4,7,5,9 Suggested Bet: Rich Fortune to win Race 2 MIDTOWN BOSS hasn’t quite gone on with it after an impressive first up win but deserves another chance back down the straight. His form through Johnny Rocker, Mornington Glory and Rey Magnerio reads well. IVAN’S HERO will strip fitter for and encouraging return down the straight crossing the line with BIG WATCH, who is flying down the straight course and has obvious claims. YULONG STORM is another with an affinity for the straight track and has jumped out well. SCISSOR STEP, ORACLE SON and FLYING ON A LIMB have claims. Selections: 3,9,4,2 Suggested Bet: Midtown Boss to win Race 3 ARRAN BAY’S best runs are when he’s ridden positively and this race appears to set up well for him to be ridden in that manner. EL SOLEADO has been freshened during a great prep and has jumped out nicely between runs. BRAYDEN STER was luckless first up and will appreciate 1600m. FORGOT YOU has been jumping out well. FRANKIE PINOT generally leaves himself with a lot to do but will strip fitter third up and gets blinkers back on. Selections: 7,9,4,1 Suggested Bet: Arran Bay each way Race 4 AMEENA appears highly promising and if she handles the straight course looks the one to beat. BLUE ALLURE chased bravely behind Ameena first up and should appreciate 1200m. IN HER EYES gets winkers on and has jumped out well since the Blue Diamond. MISS SWIFT comes through the same race as Ameena and Blue Allure and also looks suited at 1200m. TOBEORNOTTOBE has been solid behind Hayasugi at her two runs to date and is another to jump out nicely between runs. REASONABLE POINT was an eye-catcher down the straight on debut and had excuses in Sydney. Selections: 4,9,7,10 Suggested Bet: Ameena to win Race 5 KATSU is most effective first up and has jumped out in typically sharp style. SANS DOUTE has shown a real affinity for the straight track and seems capable of measuring up to this stronger company. GHAANATI looked sharp in a recent jumpout, she’s unknown at 1000m but is a straight track winner. NAJEM SUHAIL likes it here and had excuses in the Oakleigh Plate. VIVIANE will be race fit now and can give them something to chase. WHAT YOU NEED is an obvious talent resuming from a lengthy lay off. He’s been jumping out ok but inclined to think he’ll benefit from the run. Selections: 6,9,5,4 Suggested Bet: Katsu each way Same Race Multi: Katsu (Top 2) + Sans Doute (Top 4) Race 6 SEA WHAT I SEE tackles much stronger company but is racing through the grades in great style and should relish 2000m. LAUDING has developed some enviable tactical versatility and is an obvious danger. SIR ATLAS is on trial at 2000m but was luckless in a strong race last start and gives the impression the trip will suit. REBADGE chased well behind LAUDING last time and has some claims. Selections: 12,1,6,9 Suggested Bet: Sea What I See to win Race 7 Good race but ESTRIELLA looks the one to beat. She was explosive from back in the field first up and dominated from on the speed here last time. She’s jumped out in great style between runs and appears destined for better races. SALTAIRE has trialled well in Sydney and has the straight track experience. STRETAN ANGEL is another with a decent straight record, she’s jumped out well and will be charging late. HEDGED held off HANCHI down the straight last start, both have some claims but siding with Hedged, with the likely improvement from that run, as the best chance from that contest. Selections: 13,15,3,6 Suggested Bet: Estriella to win Race 8 Enthralling race. PRIDE OF JENNI gets back out to 2000m and impossible not to think she’s going much better than her only other attempt at this trip to date. She looks to get an unchallenged lead and is sure to be hard to get past. MR BRIGHTSIDE is drawn to settle closer than the All Star Mile and although he’s yet to win at 2000m, his most recent Cox Plate effort indicates it’s well within his scope. CASCADIAN won this race last year, he also comes through All Star Mile and his finishing effort was comparable to Mr Brightside. ATISHU got the right run to win the Blamey last start, this is tougher but she’s proven at Group 1 WFA over this course and distance. Selections: 1,7,2,8 Suggested Bet: Mr Brightside to win Race 9 GLENTANEOUS chased well in a high pressure Pakenham Cup and there is a likelihood of another sild tempo here. DUNKEL may have been a touch close to the speed in the Pakenham Cup and will strip fitter for that run in the distance range. MARK TWAIN brings some strong NZ form back to Australia and will be strong late. DAQIANSWEET JUNIOR did enough first up and will appreciate the rise in distance. MOSTLY CLOUDY, GEAR UP and MANKYAN have claims in a deep race. Selections: 5,3,13,6 Suggested Bet: Glentaneous each way Race 10 Typically tough finish. RHEINBERG ran well first up but probably found the 1100m too sharp, he’ll strip fitter and loos suited stepping up to 1400m. DASHING will also appreciate stepping up to 1400m second up and the Johnny Rocker form reads well now. PICAROON has trialled in great style to resume after her enviable progression last prep. FORTUNATE KISS is racing in great form but will need luck from the draw. GOLDEN PATH and EUPHORIC have upside and have both been jumping out ok to resume. Selections: 2,3,14,8 Suggested Bet: Rheinberg each way Market Market
