Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on January 12, 2024January 12, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty to learn. TWIN ENGINE displayed some nice acceleration in a recent jumpout and should be strong late. ZESTIMAN is another that has been jumping out well and looks ready to make his presence felt on debut . RAVENITE has looked sharp in a couple of recent jumpouts. SALSA FELLOW has also been jumping out nicely and gives the impression he will be strong over the concluding stages. Selections: 9,5,3,4 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 2 GOLDEN CRUSADER will strip fitter third up and can make his own luck. ARUGAMAMA is racing in great form in SA and gets down in the weights for rising in grade. HERMAN HESSE has jumped out well between runs and should be strong late coming back in trip. MASERARITE BAY has been freshened and would be a chance on his best form. Selections: 8,7,4,5 Suggested Bet: Golden Crusader each way Race 3 OTAGO lived up to the hype on debut and looks capable of coping with the rise in grade. VALOIS ran well out to this trip last start and should get a soft run from the inside draw. VERY SEWREEL looks set to ride the speed and gave another good sight. CHECK YOUR SIX chased a smart one on debut and gives the impression 1400m will suit. Selections: 3,1,8,5 Suggested Bet: Otago to win Race 4 SHAIME is sure to have derived a good deal of benefit form her solid first up run and the form around her first preparation is strong. CHESTER WARRIOR was nabbed on the post here last time and should be strong late coming back to 1000m. KEANE ENUFF hasn’t had much luck of late and the Rey Magnerio form is holding up well. MACHINIST rises in grade but has jumped out well in strong company between runs. Selections: 11,4,8,6 Suggested Bet: Shaime each way Race 5 GIRLS GIRL GIRLS is still a maiden but was the best closer in a key lead up race and should relish the step up to 2000m. BOLD SOUL comes through the same race also give the impression he will appreciate this trip. INTERLINKED looks the other main winning hope, he’s kicked off his career in great style and is another that appears suited stepping up to 2000m. Selections: 9,2,1,3 Suggested Bet: Girls Girls Girls to win Race 6 MAWKEB will be approaching peak fitness third up and closed off well staying at 1400m second up. FIRE OF ETNA has plenty of upside to offset the rise in class, she finished strongly to win first up and should relish the extra 200m. REGAL VOW has returned in great form and is another with upside. RIVAPORT will strip fitter and swaps the nose roll for blinkers. DANE ON TOUR has had a gap between runs but should give a sight riding the speed. Selections: 7,9,4,8 Suggested Bet: Mawkeb each way Same Race Multi: Mawkeb (Top 2) + Fire Of Etna (Top 4) Race 7 Competitive race. INTREPID EAGLE was forced to change course in the home straight last start adding further merit to hos win. VAGRANT appreciated the firmer ground to win second up and is open to further improvement. PUNCH LANE has the wide draw to overcome but has too much upside to overlook. HELIX ran well last start and around 1400m seems to be his sweet spot. The late market might be the best guide to the highly talented GREEN BELT. He resumes off a long break and has been jumping out quite well. Selections: 7,12,8,6 Suggested Bet: Intrepid Eagle each way Race 8 SGHIRRIPA is in terrific form and there was plenty of merit in his only straight run to date. He should get a good run stalking the speed and looks the one to beat again. THE ASTROLOGIST did enough first up behind Sghirripa, he loves the straight course and gets blinkers back on. CURRAN will settle off the speed and charging late. CROSSHAVEN will also be strong late dropping back from 1400m. Selections: 2,1,4,5 Suggested Bet: Sghirripa to win Race 9 MIRACLE SPIN looked good winning last time and the form through that race has held up well. He may appreciate even more ground but still looks the one to beat staying at 1600m. CAPTAIN BRITAIN is fit, flying and found the track too wet at Ballarat at his only recent failure. REAL SENSATION has retuned to his best from at his last couple and 1600m appears to be his best trip. TONNEOFGRIT is on trial at 1600m but is going well and maps for a soft run. PIAGGIO has been back to the jumpouts since his buck jumping display last start and has a case. Selections: 3,8,6,7 Suggested Bet: Miracle Spin to win Race 10 JUNGLE JIM was brave after absorbing pressure last start and should be at his top now. IS IT ME seems to appreciate being kept fresh and will be charging late. JENNY JEROME did enough first up and is drawn to have clear air over the concluding stages. EBONY KING also did enough first up and will appreciate the extra 100m. Selections: 1,2,6,8 Suggested Bet: Jungle Jim each way Market Market
