Harry Buchanan’s Friday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on January 12, 2024January 12, 2024 | Posted by TABtouch MANDURAH Race 2 No. 1 Really Sirius The box and the map give him every hope here. Dog in 3 will want off badly and this bloke speed can then drive up and lead. That would be it if he did. Race 3 No. 5 Quest For Power and No. 8 Every Step The 5 has plenty of talent and also the speed to offset this box. Can run the time to win if he gets up there early. The 8 is a good box dog and she went well midweek over this trip. She could surprise out wide and stick on to hit the frame. Race 4 No. 3 Out Max and No. 4 Ballistic Ant The 3 was tragic its last two and now steps up to his best trip. The kennel change has resonated with him and while he may be one run short, he will give a sight if he get gets up there early. He’s going better than it looks and that’s a fact. The 4 will try and lead and she trialled very fast over the 488m two weeks ago in 27.17. She is very hard to get past when she leads and this trip is ideal. Will be a price and can figure. Race 5 (Birthday Cup Preview) Harry Buchanan’s Birthday Cup Preview Race 6 No. 1 Pudding Monelli and No. 4 Tweak Freak The 1 was none and zero hope last week. The step up in trip now means he will get his chance. Needs to stay close as there are capable dogs in this but his run home will be very strong. The 4 will try and lead and she’s racing well over the short trip. This distance won’t bother her and will only help and she will give a sight if she steps. Race 7 No. 3 Start Up Ando and No. 1 Redhead Rider The 3 would be a bird in this if he drew off the track. He is handling inside boxes a little better though and can give this a shake if he gets into a striking spot. Will descend late. The 1 will show his customary speed and be hard to run down. Gets a drop in company here and will look the winner at some stage if he hops out his best. Race 8 No. 5 Aztec Kid and No. 1 Rio Tokyo The best bolter of the night in 5. He went close to leading last time when flattened and while he is enigmatic, he is very fast when he gets the arm to himself. Could stun these if he steps. The 1 will relish the inside here and muster up quickly. Has 400m form in VIC so the trip won’t bother and just needs the arm to give that sight. Race 10 No. 1 Calico Joe Boxed to shake the life out of this. Very under rated and he will show why here if he begins on terms. A repeat of his run two starts ago off this box will get him in the finish here. Dont dismiss him. Not one bit. Race 11 No. 7 Jelly Monelli Enigmatic the theme of the night and she is just that. She is also very talented and has had no luck here her last run. Will be charging home and goes close if she is in touch turning. WENTWORTH PARK Race 4 No. 1 Mepunga Shine Victorian weapon who is boxed to give a great sight here. Goes fast early and he’s hard to get past when he leads. 29.76 at the Meadows two back says it all. The one to beat. Race 5 No. 6 Irinka Daniel and No. 7 Mepunga Smokey The 6 has tricky draw but a lot of ability. Has won here in good time and can do so again if he offsets this draw. The 7 will show pace out wide and if his best arrives, he’s a huge show. Can run time on the arm and could get that if he steps in this. Race 9 No. 5 Aunt Virginia She’s going to be very good. Tragedy beaten in the Laurels at Sandown and reported to have trialled very well here. If she steps with them, she is clearly the one to beat. Market Market
