Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on September 30, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty to learn. CHARM STONE looked to jump out quite well down the straight recently and has subsequently had a quiet jumpout at Cranbourne. Suspect she will respond well when put under pressure. Pantelone also jumped out nicely down the straight recently without being tested. ADITI, BELUGA EXPRESS, KRAKARIB aan MOUNT OLYMPUS were others to look comfortable down the straight course. ANOTHER NEPHEW has trialled and jumped out nicely. Selections: 10,5,3,9 Suggested Bet: Small bet Charm Stone to win Race 2 VISINARI is building an impressive record since joining the Price and Kent (Jnr) stable and has been jumping out well to resume. He looks well up to this class and on the minimum weight should prove hard to beat. Expect improvement form HOLBIEN stepping up to a more suitable trip on firmer ground second up. The Garden has race fitness on his side and is racing through the grades well. CHARACTER and MR EXCLUSIVE are in the mix for the multiples. Selections: 7,4,9,2 Suggested Bet: Visinari to win Race 3 SUMATRA is sure to appreciate 1600m on a big track. She hit the line well over 1400m last start. SHE’S LICKETYSPLIT was brave in the same race working three wide on the speed and carrying 59kg. She is favoured by the set weights conditions here and gets blinkers on. DO IT LA has upside and looks suited stepping up to 1600m. TAJNEED won nicely last start with AS TIME GOES BY, WHISPERING LADY and FOXY CLEOPATRA all running well in the same race. TYPHONN TITMUS backs up after running well at 1400m last week. VAGRANT hasn’t had much luck lately and can improve at odds. Selections: 2,1,3,12 Suggested Bet: Sumatra each way Race 4 Competitive mares race. FORTUNATE KISS is due for a change of luck. She was badly held up last start and maps for a soft run. If she gets clear in the home straight, she should be fighting out the finish. EXCELIDA had been jumping out well prior to her first up run. Firmer ground and the step up to 1400m are positives for her. YEARNING might need some luck from the inside draw but she ran well in a similar race first up. PRIDE OF JENNI rises in grade but was impressive when stepping up to this trip last start. DOUCEUR has been jumping out well and can pull out a run fresh. Selections: 13,8,1,11 Suggested Bet: FORTUNATE KISS each way Race 5 GIGA kick looms hard to beat again. He’s unbeaten to date, proven down the straight and has jumped out well between runs. BUENOS NOCHES was strong to the lone winning on protest last start and had no luck at his only defeat to date. STUPENDO and DOULL will both strip fitter for their first up runs behind Buenos Noches and excuses can be made for both in that race. SWISS EXILE hasn’t had much luck this prep and will strip fitter third up. Selections: 3,5,8,1 Suggested Bet: Giga Kick to win Race 6 Competitive race as you would expect with a spot in the Melbourne Cup up for grabs. INTERPRETATION has looked good at both his Australian starts. He is sure to strip fitter and blinkers have been swapped for a visor. LUNAR FLARE has returned well. She should appreciate the rise in trip and a return to the spacious Flemington track. HIGH EMOCEAN had the better of Interpretation and other last start and stays down in the weights. MIDNIGHT BLUE should appreciate getting away from the tighter tracks of Caulfield and Moonee Valley. DAQIANSWEET JUNIOR and VOW AND DECLARE have claims. Selections: 10,8,9,7 Suggested Bet: Interpretation each way Race 7 GOLD TRIP may be some query on a firming track and has only won one race but he’s an obvious talent and is well suited but the set weights and penalties conditions. PROFONDO should appreciate getting away from wet tracks and looks suited stepping up to 2000m. MAXIMAL will also appreciate a firmer track than last start and is capable of improving from a favourable draw. INSPIRATIONAL GIRL has jumped out well between runs. It would be no surprise to see DUAIS bounce back. Selections: 12,4,15,8 Suggested Bet: Gold Trip to win Race 8 A number of these competed against each other down the straight last start. From that race SWATS THAT will strip fitter and didn’t have the best of luck getting a clear run when she needed it. ROCH ‘N’ HORSE ran well in the same race and is a Group 1 winner down the straight. BALLER won that race and will strip fitter. THE ASTROLOGIST also come through that race and he has jumped out well between runs. ATHELRIC brings a strong different form line through Nature Strip and Eduardo. Selections: 13,6,2,8 Suggested Bet: Swats That each way Race 9 Some promising staying 3yos here and ARTZINO looks one of the most promising. He hit the line well winning impressively last start and should relish 1800m on a spacious track. MR MAESTRO won well over this course and distance last start on heavy ground but seems to handle all conditions. KAPAKIRI was solid behind Mr Maestro last time. MAJOR BEEL rode the speed in the same race and gets winkers son. RED SUN SENSATION and CARDAZIO have claims. Selections: 4,1,9,2 Suggested Bet: Artzino to win Market Market
