Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 2, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 ATHABASCAN (3) started from the backline and worked hard in the run when a strong 3rd to Zennart last week. He is much better drawn here and will appreciate the drop in class. COURAGE TELLS (2) is racing consistently and should be thereabouts from his lovely draw. BACK TO THE BEACH (1) is ready to show his best at his third run back from a spell and should give a great sight from the pole. SON OF A TIGER (4) ran 2nd in 1.53.2 here last week and should figure if he gets the right trip. Tips: 3 2 1 4 Suggested Bet: ATHABASCAN (3) to win. Race 2 OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (3) has resumed from a break with two solid efforts and should make his presence felt from a better draw here. BAD ROUND (1) has been battling bad barriers of late but should be right in the finish from the pole. PICK MY POCKET (5) was placed in 1.53.3 two starts back and must be considered on that run. BHAGWAN (2) is racing below his best but grows a leg in front and can improve sharply. Tips: 3 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (3) to win. Race 3 OUR ALFIE ROMEO (11) showed blistering speed to find the front from a wide draw and defeat a similar field last start. She goes the backline tonight but should still prove hard to beat. MISS SANGRIAL (1) is drawn perfectly again and should press for an all-the-way victory tonight. DRACARYS (2) wasn’t far away last start behind OUR ALFIE ROMEO (8) and gets her chance from this draw. INFINITE SYMBOL (4) has run brave 2nds at her last two starts but may have to work in the run. Tips: 11 1 2 4 Suggested Bet: OUR ALFIE ROMEO (11) to win. Race 4 GEE JAY KAY (10) struggled to make an impact in the major 4YO races before being held up when 2nd to Zennart last start. He will obviously need luck from this draw but will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. HY LEEXCITING (2) has had his chances but looks the leader and should give a sight in that role. STEFSBEST (5) has plenty of ability and led throughout in 1.54.7 last start but has an awkward draw to overcome. BLACK JACK ZAC (1) should enjoy a lovely run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 10 2 5 1 Suggested Bet: GEE JAY KAY (10) each way. Race 5 MIGHTY CONQUEROR (8) continues to do things wrong but has plenty of ability and is worth another chance. VULTAN TIN (9) faced the breeze when bringing up consecutive victories against similar fields in December and must be considered despite the wide draw. BILL HALEY (4) had his chance when 2nd to Im Full Of Excuses here last week but is always dangerous with the right run. IM SOXY (1) has finished just behind the placegetters at his past two starts and can improve from the pole. Tips: 8 9 4 1 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY CONQUEROR (8) each way. Race 6 MR SUNDON (11) has impressed in winning his two WA starts by a combined margin of 58m and looks to have a mortgage on this event if he begins smoothly from the stand. ROCK TONIGHT (13) has been placed at his past five starts and can overcome his 30m handicap to be in the money again. TOKYO JOE (6) disappointed last week but is the best of the frontmarkers and can play a part. SUN OF ANARCHY (14) won nine of his 16 starts last season and resumes here but has to contend with a 60m handicap. Tips: 11 13 6 14 Suggested Bet: MR SUNDON (11) to win. Race 7 ART TUTOR (2) led throughout for an impressive win here during the week and will be extremely hard to catch if he can find the front tonight. REGAL AMBITION (1) took a sit from this draw when a solid 2nd here two starts back but may attempt to hold up over the sprint trip. PIERRE WHITBY (7) is the class runner of the field but has a tough draw to overcome. STAR ARMBRO (10) sat on Mon Lillies when 2nd to that mare last week and should enjoy a similar run on the pegs. Tips: 2 1 7 10 Suggested Bet: ART TUTOR (2) to win. Race 8 JOE WITH THE FLOW (1) ran on strongly to upset Back In Twenty last start but is better known as a frontrunner. He should lead here and looks extremely hard to beat. WALTZINGWITHSIERRA (10) is drawn to get a lovely run behind the favourite and looks the main danger if he sees daylight at the top of the straight. MAGESTIC PRINCE (4) disappointed last start but must be considered on his two previous efforts. BRACKEN SKY (5) was a strong 2nd at his last start and will be running on if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 1 10 4 5 Suggested Bet: JOE WITH THE FLOW (1) to win. Race 9 IDEAL LINER (1) has been placed at his last two starts following an all-the-way victory and looks the leader and winner from the pole. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (6) couldn’t get into the race last week but was a great 2nd at his previous start and can be placed tonight. MIGHTY SANTANA (4) started from a wide draw when a solid 4th here last week and shouldn’t be far away. THE BUCKET LIST (5) has only been placed once in his ten starts this season but won’t find an easier race to get into the money. Tips: 1 6 4 5 Suggested Bet: IDEAL LINER (1) to win. Race 10 JIMMY MACK (8) has been placed at his two starts back from a spell and looks primed for this assignment. He meets a weaker field tonight and looks very hard to beat. ROCKNROLL BEACHBOY (1) is a good standing start performer who looks a great place chance from the pole. ONEONTHEWOOD (7) has been placed at seven of his nine starts this time in and will be running on strongly. MAXIMUM DEMAND (5) is racing consistently and can be placed with the right run in transit. Tips: 8 1 7 5 Suggested Bet: JIMMY MACK (8) to win. Race 11 ROBB STARK (2) has a losing sequence of 20 and his desire to win is questionable but he looks to get his chance tonight. He ran on well when 3rd here last week and should give a sight if he finds the top. ICONIC VALOUR (8) has ran on from near the rear to win his last two starts and will be charging home again. VALBONNE (7) hasn’t had much luck lately and can figure here. QUICK STRIDE (10) is drawn to get a soft run in transit and is capable of unwinding a strong finishing burst. Tips: 2 8 7 10 Suggested Bet: ROBB STARK (2) to win. Market Market
