Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 2, 2025January 2, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 HEEZ A VIBE (9) is undefeated this time in with all three victories being at Albany. This is a rise in class but his last win in blistering time suggests he is the one to beat despite the wide draw. BLAZE ON (11) did things wrong at Albany at his last start but he has a very good record and is the obvious danger. TORPEDO ROCK (5) chased hard when 2nd to Spicey Major in 1.52.8 and can win with the right run. MISTER MACEDON (8) has two wins and a 2nd from his last three starts and must be considered but will find this harder. Tips: 9 11 5 8 Suggested Bet: HEEZ A VIBE (9) to win. Race 2 OUR LADY JEN (5) has been racing consistently without winning and she had no luck when fancied but held up at her last start. She is likely to be given her chance tonight and should give a great sight. SECRET REACTION (4) led throughout to defeat a similar field here last week and will be hard to catch if she can find the front over the sprint distance. RELATIVELY ARMA (6) is drawn poorly but her last start 2nd to Nase Vira was full of merit and she can’t be overlooked. JACKIE DANIELS (8) could be a blowout chance if they go hard and she can get the right cart into the race. Tips: 5 4 6 8 Suggested Bet: OUR LADY JEN (5) to win. Race 3 LAVRA JOE (8) looks to be back to something like his best with dominant wins at his last two starts and is clearly the one to beat. BRICKIES DREAM (2) was an impressive 1.55.2 all-the-way winner of the Christmas Gift and looks ready for the rise in class. HOPPYS WAY (1) has the speed to lead early if desired and looks a great place chance from the pole. GOODFELLAZ (7) is racing well but the wide draw in this company will present a challenge. Tips: 8 2 1 7 Suggested Bet: LAVRA JOE (8) to win. Race 4 SPICEY MAJOR (1) was crossed by SOHO SANTORINI (3) from this draw last week but he is expected to get out better tonight and he is clearly the one to beat if he does hold up at the start. SOHO SANTORINI (3) has been placed in five of his last six starts and will be a winning chance if he crosses again. INSTA GATOR (9) probably has the best form in the event but will need a fast early tempo to help him overcome the wide draw. BENJI (10) was disappointing on New Years Eve but will enjoy a soft run on the pegs tonight and can improve. Tips: 1 3 9 10 Suggested Bet: SPICEY MAJOR (1) to win. Race 5 FRANCO ECUADOR (5) was first-up for five weeks when a brilliant 1.54.6 winner over Skylord here last week. This doesn’t look any harder and he should prove hard to beat. HIGH PRICE (1) is racing very consistently and he looks the obvious danger if he can hold the lead from the pole draw. RASCAL (2) will be prominent throughout and should be in the finish. RAGAZZO MACH (7) will be approaching his top after a long layoff and should be running on at good each way odds. Tips: 5 1 2 7 Suggested Bet: FRANCO ECUADOR (5) to win. Race 6 NAVY STREET (3) crossed from a middle barrier when a comfortable winner here last week and will be hard to beat if he finds the front again. CLASSIC CHOICE (1) was crossed from this barrier two starts back but he does possess gate speed and may try to hold up and should be thereabouts whether he leads or sits. MY ULTIMATE CHEVRON (6) will be the beneficiary if there is a solid tempo and he is racing well enough to win a race of this nature. CLOUD NINE (2) should enjoy a nice run just behind the speed and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 3 1 6 2 Suggested Bet: NAVY STREET (3) to win. Race 7 HOLD THAT GOLD (3) has won his last five on end against similar fields and it is hard to make a case for his rivals tonight with him drawing to find the lead. PATCHED (6) ran on well to finish 2nd to HOLD THAT GOLD (3) at his last start and looks a good chance for the quinella again. LUVAFLAIR (7) is first-up but was placed in her last seven starts before having a break and will be running on. NICKYS SON (4) always seems to find the favourite too good but is rarely far away. Tips: 3 6 7 4 Suggested Bet: HOLD THAT GOLD (3) to win. Race 8 HILLVIEW BONDI (4) led when 2nd to Lavra Joe in a stronger field at his last start. He will be extremely hard to beat if he finds the top but can still salute if that doesn’t eventuate. CORDERO (7) drops in class on his recent assignments and will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. REGAL CHEVAL (6) possesses very good gate speed and he will make it interesting if he can cross at the start. CARRERA MACH (3) could get the trip he needs to be in the money at good odds. Tips: 4 7 6 3 Suggested Bet: HILLVIEW BONDI (4) to win. Market Market
