Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 21, 2024November 21, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ZEPHYRA (7) has only been placed in two of her seven starts this time in but comes back from strong mares’ company to take on a weaker field tonight and she appeals as the one to beat. IFEEL SIKDARL (1) is a different horse when able to lead and he should give a great sight from the pole. MISTER MACEDON (2) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last three starts but can make his presence felt tonight. ME FLASH (11) was a solid 3rd here last week and can be in the finish at good each way odds. Tips: 7 1 2 11 Suggested Bet: ZEPHYRA (7) to win. Race 2 VEGAS STRIP (1) attempted to lead throughout when 5th in the WA Derby then had a tough run when a beaten favourite here last week. He will lead here and should prove very hard to catch. GOLDEN LODE (6) caught the eye when 4th in the WA Derby and then ran a great 2nd to Tualou and will be charging home again. THE BEAUDSTER (12) has finished 1st or 2nd in his last eight starts and has the strength to overcome his back line draw. WHATARETHEODDS (4) was first-up when 2nd in 1.52.8 but doesn’t map well tonight. Tips: 1 6 12 4 Suggested Bet: VEGAS STRIP (1) to win. Race 3 VENTURA (7) was an impressive 1.52.8 winner when first-up for Gary Hall Jnr and then never saw daylight when 5th here last week. He will be forced to make his own luck from out here but will be suited by the likelihood of a solid tempo. IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (2) will strip fitter at his third run back from a spell and is the best drawn of the main chances. OTIS (6) normally does the work in his races but has been placed in seven of his past eight starts and should be thereabouts again. MAGNUS VICTOR (3) is racing well and looks a major player from this draw. Tips: 7 2 6 3 Suggested Bet: VENTURA (7) to win. Race 4 FRANCO ECUADOR (5) disappointed last time in but he has resumed with a Lightning Lap win and a solid 4th here last week and he looks capable of controlling this race from the breeze tonight. BRICKIES DREAM (6) is drawn awkwardly but he is the other class runner in this field. CLASSIC CHOICE (1) has options from the pole and shouldn’t be far away at good each way odds. SOHO SANTORINI (10) ran 2nd to Gee Heza Sport here last week and can play a part if he has some luck from this barrier. Tips: 5 6 1 10 Suggested Bet: FRANCO ECUADOR (5) to win. Race 5 STENO (6) led throughout to win the Norms Daughter Classic at her last start and has crossed AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (2) before. Her winning chances will probably be decided by the first turn but I think she can cross and will be the one to beat if that does occur. AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (2) has the barrier advantage but doesn’t have to lead to win and is the obvious danger. OUR SANDY SHORE (1) has improved considerably and she looks a great each way chance from the pole. WONDERFUL TO FLY (3) should enjoy a nice run just off the speed and is always dangerous. Tips: 6 2 1 3 Suggested Bet: OUR SANDY SHORE (1) each way. Race 6 JUMPINGJACKMAC (6) hasn’t had much luck in his three runs back from a spell and he looks the one to beat with the drop in class tonight. WILDWEST (2) led and defeated JUMPINGJACKMAC (6) from a similar draw last time in and he will have plenty of admirers. Gary Hall Jnr has chosen TRICKY MIKI (7) over the two Hall runners and he looks the other winning chance in this event. CORDERO (1) follows pace well and can be placed from the pole. Tips: 6 2 7 1 Suggested Bet: JUMPINGJACKMAC (6) to win. Race 7 NAVY STREET (4) has finished towards the rear at his two runs back from a spell but he will be a big improver if he finds the front. SHOWPONY (6) is taking time to get back to his best form but showed improvement last start and can make his presence felt tonight. MIDDLEPAGE (5) has been unplaced in his nine starts this time in but is better suited in this class. ALTA RHETT (10) is drawn to get a soft run and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 4 6 5 10 Suggested Bet: NAVY STREET (4) to win. Race 8 LUCKY COPY (3) was an impressive all-the-way winner at his first start after a break and he will be hard to catch if he can find the front again. THE FIRST CUT (6) did all the work when a 7m 2nd to LUCKY COPY (3) and can turn the tables with the right run. LADIESHAVTIME (9) has her share of ability but the wide draw makes it tough. RUIA (7) was beaten into 2nd as a $1.24 favourite at her last start but she has been placed in her last six starts and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 3 6 9 7 Suggested Bet: LUCKY COPY (3) to win. Race 9 GEE HEZA SPORT (3) is creating a big reputation and he will be at prohibitive odds to bring up his 4th win in a row. STAR CASINO (1) has plenty of ability and is the only danger, if there is one. PAUL EDWARD (2) is likely to go to the pegs and looks a good place chance. GALACTIC STAR (5) ran a 15m 2nd to GEE HEZA SPORT (3) and can be in the money again. Tips: 3 1 2 5 Suggested Bet: GEE HEZA SPORT (3) to win. Race 10 TUALOU (7) performed well but didn’t have much luck in the 4YO Classics before leading throughout to turn the tables on the talented Christopher Dance at his last start. He is drawn wide tonight but he is still the one to beat. FRANKLIN DELANO (2) goes up in class tonight but the sectionals he has reeled off in winning his last three starts indicate that he will give a great sight if he finds the front. MAXIMUM ROCK (3) has been placed at big odds in three of his past four starts and can be in the money again. THELITTLE MASTER (6) disappointed at his first run back from a spell but can improve sharply. Tips: 7 2 3 6 Suggested Bet: TUALOU (7) to win. Market Market
