Warren Huntly’s Saturday Cranbourne Preview Posted on November 21, 2024November 21, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ROMANI ITE DOMUM coped well with the rise in grade last time. He may have had the pattern in his favour but looks progressive and can make his own luck. DAMEHOOD also coped well with the rise in grade last time and was arguably in the wrong part of the track. REFUSETOBEENGLISH has been jumping out well enough to respect on debut. BRIDAL WALTZ is some query at the end of 1200m but is fit and racing well. Selections: 3,8,7,2 Suggested Bet: Romani Ite Domum to win Race 2 MOUNT RINJANI made up for a luckless debut with a strong win last start and looks hard to beat again. KING OF ENTERPRISE held his ground ok behind the impressive winner of the Carbine Club, who was then unlucky in the 1000 Guineas. REEL HOT, I ONLY WISH and PAPAL ARMY are still maidens but have shown enough to be competitive. Selections: 1,2,6,9 Suggested Bet: Mount Rinjani to win Race 3 AHURIRI was ok after being well backed in a stronger race last time and looks well placed. STAUNCH was solid in the Ararat Cup and will appreciate dropping in grade. SPLIT looks a genuine staying type based in his NZ runs and gets a soft draw with a claim. RICK’S CAFE was strong through the line last start giving the impression this trip will be ok. THE GENUIS is fit and consistent. Selections: 7,2,10,8 Suggested Bet: Ahuriri to win Race 4 EUGENIUS will strip fitter third up and should get a decent run near the speed. ALECTRONA ran well first up, she seems suited around this trip and maps for a soft run. GALLANT PRINCE will be part of the speed, he swaps winkers for blinkers and will be suited by the firm ground. OVERACTIVE ran ok in a stronger race last start and will be suited by the slight rise in distance. PIONEER RIVER has been jumping out ok for the new stable. Selections: 7,8,13,2 Suggested Bet: Eugenius each way Race 5 TRAPEZE WARRIOR is building a handy record, he maps for a good run and measured up well in a stronger race last start. HARRY GOT STYLES got a bit keen last start but still ran well, no surprise to see winkers come off. FISSION doesn’t win out of turn but he races well at Moonee Valley and the Cranbourne circuit may suit him also. LAZY SUSAN has jumped out nicely between runs and can tuck in behind what should be a solid tempo. Selections: 10,7,4,2 Suggested Bet: Trapeze Warrior each way Race 6 NATION’S CALL will be approaching peak fitness third up and stuck on well behind a talented galloper last time. AMBASSADORIAL will push forward and could prove hard to get past, particularly if leaders are advantaged. COMMANDO DRIFT has been freshened and is a winner under similar circumstances in this distance range. SAVOIR FARE and MATHEW have form that ties in with Nation’s Call and have claims. Selections: 4,10,11,7 Suggested Bet: Nation’s Call each way Race 7 Typically competitive race for the Fillies and Mares. FLOOZIE was well backed to win an easier race first up and Bendigo. She may settle closer from the good draw and has been competitive at stakes level previously. There wasn’t much between TIZ INVINCIBLE and KONASANA last start and that form should hold up here. WINGS OF SONG has been trialling/jumping out well to resume, she may be better over further but her upside is hard to overlook. BRAZEN LADY will strip fitter third up and will appreciate stepping up to 1400m. Selections: 10,1,3,2 Suggested Bet: Floozie each way Race 8 BARAQIEL seems more effective away from the straight course but was still ok against our best sprinters last start. If he can reproduce his Moonee Valley win from two starts back, then he’s the one to beat. NADAL has retuned in great form as a gelding and was luckless in a key lead up race behind REY MAGNERIO and ROBRICK last time. ARKANSAW KID is another that has been in great form since being gelded and has jumped out well since his run in the Sydney Stakes. Selections: 2,12,1,6 Suggested Bet: Baraqiel to win Race 9 VON HAUKE ran as well as he could at G1 WFA last time. He didn’t have the best of luck at Moonee Valley the start prior and is suited getting back to handicap conditions. RUNNING BY takes on the boys but appreciated getting back on former ground and ticked the 1600m box last time. PINSRTIPED was brave after covering ground at G1 WFA last time and has earned his weight in this company. NUGGET finished alongside Von Hauke two starts back and is another suited dropping back from G1 WFA company. GLOBE is progressing well this prep, he’ll no doubt have taken significant improvement from his two recent runs and can make his own luck. Selections: 7,10,1,4 Suggested Bet: Von Hauke each way Same Race Multi: Von Hauke (Top 2) + Running By (Top 4) Race 10 OH TOO GOOD has another wide draw to contend with but their doesn’t appear to be as much pressure here as last start and she looks destined for better race. VAIL MOUNTAIN did enough first up and will be suited by the rise in distance. MATHLETIC had been jumping out well leading into his first up run and had excuses after covering ground there. BOLTSAVER may be a superior wet-tracker but is going ok on form ground and had excuses last time Selections: 8,2,4,5 Suggested Bet: Oh Too Good to win Market Market
