Race 1

LION QUEEN (11) followed a strong 3rd in the WA Oaks with an all-the-way in 1.54.9 here last week and is the one to beat again despite the backline draw. CHILLI PUNTER (1) is a last start winner in weaker company and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. SOHO HONEY RIDER (5) ran 2nd in the WA Oaks before finishing midfield against the boys here last week and will appreciate taking on her own sex tonight. RELATIVELY ARMA (10) is drawn to enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can be placed at odds.

Race 2

TOMMY WATERHOUSE (10) crosses the Nullabor with only average recent NSW form but his Pinjarra trial win was very impressive and he will be hard to beat if he has any luck from his awkward draw. BRICKIES DREAM (9) is the class runner of the field and has trialled nicely for his return but he has to overcome a wide draw over the sprint trip. ACUTO (1) hasn’t been at his best in his four starts since a short break but he trialled nicely at Byford and must be considered from the pole. FIREROCKFIREROLL (2) has very good gate speed and will give a sight if he can find the front.

Suggested Bet: TOMMY WATERHOUSE (10) to win.

Race 3

HAMPTON BANNER (4) has been unplaced in his past nine starts but drops in class tonight and will give a great sight if he finds the front in the early stages. HOPPYS WAY (11) ran a nice 3rd to Jawsoflincoln here last week and should be ready to show his best at his third run back from a spell. JASPERVELLABEACH (1) has a poor first-up record but can be placed if he sits behind the speed from his perfect draw. WONDERFUL TO FLY (10) is nowhere near her best but is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and shouldn’t be far away.

Race 4

LAVRA JOE (1) should be ready to fire at his third run back from a spell and his last start 2nd from the breeze indicates that he will be hard to beat if he leads as expected over this trip. TO FAST TO SERIOUS (10) is drawn perfectly for his sit-sprint style and. He is capable of repeating his win here two starts back if he sees daylight at the right time. CAPTAIN RAVISHING (5) has his first start here but he is capable of smashing the clock and he adds a great deal of interest to this event. STENO (2) led throughout in 1.53.5 over this distance at her last start and can play a part despite taking on the boys tonight.

Race 5

VEGAS STRIP (1) was used out of the gate but still ran on well when a close 2nd to CHRISTOPHER DANCE (9) in the Western Gateway and the barrier advantage gives him a great chance to turn the tables on his stablemate. CHRISTOPHER DANCE (9) has been ultra-impressive in winning his two WA starts and is clearly the one to beat but the draw will make it challenging. TUALOU (4) was the unlucky runner in the Western Gateway and looks a major winning chance. MENEMSHA (10) has a great record in big races and will be dangerous from his nice trailing draw.

Suggested Bet: VEGAS STRIP (1) each way.

Race 6

FLYING RUMOUR (1) blotted his copybook when he over-raced in front when pressured and finished at the tail. He should get away with an easier run in front tonight and should give a great sight. SOLESSEO MATUCA (8) did a great job when working hard before finishing 3rd in that event and will make his presence felt again. GOODFELLAZ (10) is an in and out customer but his best would see him right in the finish here. THE MIKI TAKER (9) had his chance when narrowly beaten in an easier event but is proven in this company.

Suggested Bet: FLYING RUMOUR (1) to win.

Race 7

INSTA GATOR (4) was blocked for a run last week after working hard when 2nd to Fleur De Maquis at his previous start. He enjoys a barrier advantage over his main rivals tonight and appeals as the one to beat. HIGH PRICE (8) is in career best form and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. THE BEAUDSTER (6) is flying and would have been the on top selection if he had have drawn inside INSTA GATOR (4) but the speed map doesn’t look favourable. SOHO BOLLINGER (5) will give a great sight if he can find the front but may have to settle for a spot close to the speed.

Race 8

JIMMY ROCKS (2) hasn’t won in 11 starts this time in but his last effort when 3rd to Thenu Came Along at big odds had plenty of merit and he should give plenty of cheek from this draw. DARK EYES (3) was a good all-the-way winner against older horses at his last start and looks a major player but he hasn’t been seen for four weeks. MIKIS PRIDE (6) has had no luck at his last two starts but can be driven more aggressively against this line-up. KURIOUS BOY (1) doesn’t have the class of many of his rivals but can be placed from the pole.

Tips: 2 3 6 1

Suggested Bet: JIMMY ROCKS (2) each way.

Race 9

AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (1) did things wrong when 9th to Steno at her last start but has trialled soundly since and will be at prohibitive odds to bounce back into the winners’ circle. STARLIGHT DREAM (2) looks likely to enjoy the run of the race on the back of the favourite and won’t be far away. PENNY BLACK (5) impressed in winning six of her seven starts last time in and a recent trial win over AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (1) indicates that she is in for another good campaign. BLAZE COOPS (3) is likely to be three back on the pegs which looks a great place to be in running.

Race 10

LONGREACH BAY (2) has only been placed once in his last 15 starts but he led throughout on that occasion and he looks a good chance to find the front tonight so must be respected. WALL STREET GIRL (1) is a slow and unreliable beginner but she should be in the finish if she begins safely and doesn’t get too far back. SUGAR STREET (8) has a tough draw to overcome but he is the class runner in this field. MR FANTASTIC (4) has finished towards the rear at his two starts back from a spell but drops in class tonight and can make his presence felt.
