Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on October 31, 2024October 31, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 FEROCE stuck on well in the Caulfield Guineas and looks set to get a good run near the speed. STYLISH SECRET is racing in great form and has jumped out well to tackle this race on the fresh side. ACTA NON VERBA is the likely leader and may prove hard to get past. AELIANA and HAMMETT come through the same race in Sydney and both have claims. Selections: 1,2,3,6 Suggested Bet: Feroce to win Race 2 GOOD SORT was luckless last start in Sydney and Aeliana and Hammet will provide a guide on that form in the previous race. MATISSE will strip fitter third up, she should appreciate the spacious track and gets blinkers. CHEWING GUM may have been in the right part of the track last time but her finishing effort is hard to ignore and she gets winkers. SUPERCILIOUS backs up from a good run last week and looks suited stepping up in distance. TOO DARN LIZZIE gets up in the weights but will give a sight. LOVELYCUT will need some luck from the draw but will be charging late. Selections: 9,7,14,8 Suggested Bet: Good Sort each way Race 3 SCHWARZ has trialled well between runs and is drawn to stalk the speed. REY MAGNERIO was luckless last time and handles the straight course well. MAHARBA chased well at WFA last start and has also performed well down the straight. WHO DARES will strip fitter for his last run and can be effective coming back to 1200m. SPACEWALK is another with a decent straight record and has a case. Selections: 6,11,2,9 Suggested Bet: Schwarz each way Same Race Multi: Schwarz (Top 2) + Rey Magnerio (Top 4) Race 4 ANOTHER WIL was below his best in the Toorak but his previous form was outstanding and he’s drawn for great run. JIMMYSSTAR has retuned in terrific form, he’s drawn wide but with B.Shinn aboard it might pay not to overanalyse that. MIGHTY ULYSSES will strip fitter for an impressive first up win. NICOLINI VITO is always a chance in these races and has jumped out ok between runs. Selections: 2,5,1,7 Suggested Bet: Another Wil to win Race 5 POWERS OF OPAL had a confidence booster last start after racing upside down in the Flight Stakes and gives the impression she’ll relish 2000m. INEVITABLE TRUTH and JENNI’S MEADOW both worked home well in the Ethereal and should be better suited at Flemington. TREASURETHE MOMENT is on trial at the trip but she’ll make her own luck and has shown good fight up to 1600m. Selections: 5,10,1,2 Suggested Bet: Powers Of Opal to win Race 6 Great race with speed potentially across the grid. SWITZERLAND can park just off the speed and looked to be back to something like his best last time. GROWING EMPIRE was brave in The Everest and The Manikato and has handled the straight course. If he’s got another run in him this prep he’ll be hard to beat. TRAFFIC WARDEN may need some luck from the low draw but has the talent to win. BODYGUARD has trialled well between runs and can improve dramatically on firmer ground. BELLATRIX STAR impressed winning at WFA las start and is drawn to have clear air late. Selections: 5,1,3,7 Suggested Bet: Switzerland each way Race 7 RED ACES and POLITELY DUN have both drawn to advantage and back up from good run at Moonee Valley. Politely Dun gets blinkers off for the rise in trip and can settle closer to Red Aces than last week. EL CASTELLO brings outstanding NSW form and with any luck from the draw will obviously be hard to beat. KING OF THUNDER was close up with Red Aces last week, so must have a case. KINGOFWALLSTREET gives the impression he’ll relish 2500m. Selections: 2,7,1,8 Suggested Bet: Red Aces each way Race 8 ALSEPHINA ran well in the Toorak and has jumped out in good style between runs. PLENTY OF AMMO can settle closer than her strong win last week against the boys and looks a strong hope again. ORCHESTRAL had little luck in the Toorak but worked well through the line when finally clear. ATISHU is well graded on her best form. LADY IN PINK improved nicely second up and has a blowout chance. Selections: 7,13,3,1 Suggested Bet: Alsephina each way Race 9 INFANCY may be drawn the right part of the track and should settle closer down the straight course. ISTHMUS was disadvantaged in a tactical race last time. Her previous win here was impressive and she gets a tongue tie. PONDALOWIE beat home Isthmus last start and is a straight track winner. PHARARI, SANS DOUTE, A LITTLE DEEP and KIN are among the other winning chances in a deep race. Selections: 7,17,19,15 Suggested Bet: Infancy each way Market Market
