Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 4, 2024April 4, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 CHACO EAGLE (1) drops in class on his last-start 5th to Never Ending and appeals as the one to beat from the pole. LOUCID DREAMS (10) was a solid 2nd at his second run back from a spell and looks a good each way chance from his nice trailing draw. SISTA SAMMY (11) resumes without a trial but has shown plenty of ability and must be respected here. FRANCO ENCORE (2) has won two of his last four starts and should be thereabouts from his nice draw. Tips: 1 10 11 2 Suggested Bet: LOUCID DREAMS (10) each way. Race 2 LUSAKA (7) caught the eye when he had no luck but still finished 4th to Never Ending in a stronger field. He is drawn poorly here but drops in class and is clearly the one to beat. ROCKABALL (1) has faced the breeze and finished 2nd at his last two starts and will give a great sight if he can hold up at the start. COWBOYS N BANDITS (5) sped the to the front and led throughout at his last start and will give plenty of cheek if he crosses at the start. SHOWPONY (9) continues to race well but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 7 1 5 9 Suggested Bet: LUSAKA (7) to win. Race 3 MIKI JET (1) goes up in class on his last three wins in moderate time but looks to have extra gears and should give a great sight from the pole. SKYLOU (3) won the WA Derby at his last start before going for a spell and resumed with an all-the-way win the Easter Cup and is ready to tackle this company. HOPPYS WAY (5) has very good gate speed and will give a great sight if he can cross at the start. THE MIKI TAKER (10) has won three of his last four starts and will be charging home if he has any luck from this draw. Tips: 1 3 5 10 Suggested Bet: MIKI JET (1) to win. Race 4 MENEMSHA (1) finished his last campaign with wins in the Pearl and Westbred Classics but has been forced to face the breeze at his three runs back from a spell. He looks a good chance to hold up from the pole and will prove hard to catch in that role. BET THE HOUSE (10) has resumed with two impressive victories and will be dangerous from his nice trailing draw. TEN TO THE DOZEN (6) has attempted to lead throughout at his five runs this time in for three wins and two 2nds and will make things interesting in the early stages. THELITTLE MASTER (5) is racing well and can cause an upset with the right run. Tips: 1 10 6 5 Suggested Bet: BET THE HOUSE (10) each way. Race 5 MIGHTY RONALDO (1) disappointed when 5th in the Bunbury Cup after having every chance but he would be the one to beat from the pole if you can overlook that one run. MINSTREL (6) has the best form in the race and can push forward to the breeze and fight out the finish. TENZING BROMAC (4) was an impressive first-up winner and will strip fitter for that effort. LAVRA JOE (5) caught the eye in the Bunbury Cup and would be hard to beat if he can use his great gate speed to cross in the early stages. Tips: 1 6 4 5 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY RONALDO (1) to win. Race 6 WATER LOU (1) has won 12 of her 16 career starts and should add to that record after coming up with the pole draw. XCEPTIONAL ARMA (4) has won two of her four starts this time in and is the obvious danger. MORE SASS (10) is an improving type who looks a great place chance from her nice trailing draw. PRINCESS KATIE (5) can get into the money if the race is run to suit. Tips: 1 4 10 5 Suggested Bet: WATER LOU (1) to win. Race 7 CYCLONE CHARLOTTE (8) has been placed in five of her past six starts and has the versatility to overcome her 20m handicap. TURN THE PAGE (6) resumed with a strong win from the breeze before slightly disappointing when 3rd here last week but can bounce back. KOOLBARDI NAVAJO (4) has been racing well on country tracks and is ready for the rise in class. THREE RUMOURS (9) is a strong stayer suited by the distance and she should make her presence felt. Tips: 8 6 4 9 Suggested Bet: CYCLONE CHARLOTTE (8) to win. Race 8 MISTER SMARTEE (9) has won six of his eight career starts and shouldn’t have too many problems in overcoming the wide draw against this field. LOUIE LEBEAU (2) has been placed in 12 of his 18 starts this time in and can be in the money again. WASA HEAT SEEKER (10) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last three starts and looks a good place chance if he can see daylight at the right time. GALAXY WARRIOR (8) ran 2n d to the favourite here last week but will find this harder from out here. Tips: 9 2 10 8 Suggested Bet: MISTER SMARTEE (9) to win. Race 9 IM THE BLACK FLASH (3) resumed here when he faced the breeze and finished 2nd to Skylou. He beat home most of this field in that event and is clearly the one to beat. BRICKIES DREAM (2) had every chance when 3rd in that event but could turn the tables if he steps to the front. ARDENS HORIZON ran on well to finish 4th in the same race and should be thereabouts. LUCCA (6) had the hardest run in that race and knocked up to finish 6th but can figure here. Tips: 3 2 8 6 Suggested Bet: IM THE BLACK FLASH (3) to win. Race 10 QUEENINTHECORNER (3) was a nice 3rd at her first run for a new stable and should give a great sight if she finds the front as expected. BELLEZZA NERA (4) has finished just behind the placegetters in stronger fields and will appreciate the drop in class tonight. GORDON (1) is racing well and looks an each-way chance from the pole. NAME IN LIGHTS (10) is always a place chance off a soft trip and this draw suits. Tips: 3 4 1 10 Suggested Bet: QUEENINTHECORNER (3) to win. Race 11 FULL SWING DENARIO (2) worked his way to the front and defeated an almost identical field on debut and a repeat of that scenario looks likely here. CAPTAIN PAPRIKA (3), INTO THE FUTURE (1), and DO IT MY WAY (4) finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively in that race and there is a good chance they could fill the same placings again. Tips: 2 3 1 4 Suggested Bet: FULL SWING DENARIO (2) to win. Market Market
