ARDEN VELOCITY (4) had won four of his previous five starts before being unable to get into the race last week but should race in a more prominent position tonight. SIMPLY SHAZ (10) has been battling bad draws of late but will be charging home if she has any luck from this barrier. JOEY JAMES (8) is probably the class runner of the field and has the speed to overcome his wide draw. Tips: 2 4 10 8 Suggested Bet: TRADIE (2) each way. Race 2 MEA CULPA (1) has led throughout to win three of his last four starts and gets a great opportunity to add to that record despite the rise in class and distance. MASTER YOSSI (4) has finished 2nd at three of his last four starts and looks the main danger. THEO AVIATOR (5) has hit the line hard to be placed at his last two starts and will be charging home again. NAVAL AVIATOR (10) goes up considerably in class on his last start win but can be placed from this draw. Tips: 1 4 5 10 Suggested Bet: MEA CULPA (1) to win. Race 3 VALBONNE (1) led throughout to defeat a weaker field here last week. The rise in class and distance is somewhat offset by the pole draw and he should give a great sight. JAMES BUTT (2) disappointed at his last start but his previous efforts were full of merit and he can bounce back. ROCKABALL (3) was an impressive winner here four starts back and he would be a major player here if he could reproduce that performance. DOC HOLLIDAY (8) is first-up and normally takes a few runs to reach his peak but would be right in this if near his top. Tips: 1 2 3 8 Suggested Bet: VALBONNE (1) to win. Race 4 ELDAYTONA (1) is working back towards his best form and he will give a great sight if he can hold up at the start. THE MUSTANG (3) won three of his four starts in his first WA campaign and must be considered at his first run back from a spell. PERFECT MAJOR (5) is working up to a win and will be suited if there is a strong early tempo. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (7) has impressed in winning his last two starts but the rise in class and wide draw make it harder. Tips: 1 3 5 7 Suggested Bet: ELDAYTONA (1) to win. Race 5 STREET HAWK (10) did all of the work when narrowly beaten by ALCOPONY (7) in quick time here last week and has options at the starts being the only horse on the back line. BENJI (1) will be fitter for his first-up 2nd in quick time and should be in the firing line throughout from the pole. THE MIKI TAKER (5) is proven in this company and was an impressive first-up winner but was scratched from a recent engagement. ETON ROCK (3) didn’t have much luck sat his last two starts before being freshened up and can be dangerous at odds. Tips: 10 1 5 3 Suggested Bet: STREET HAWK (10) to win. Race 6 WAVERIDER (3) impressed on debut when leading throughout to win his heat with the quickest last quarter. He is the best drawn of the Heat winners and appeals as the one to beat. SOHO SKYFALL (7) faced the breeze and recorded the fastest time in his heat and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. BLAZE AWAY (4) looked a bit green on debut but still got the job done and can improve further tonight. TEN TO THE DOZEN (8) faced the breeze and was only narrowly beaten by BLAZE AWAY (4) but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 3 7 4 8 Suggested Bet: WAVERIDER (3) to win. Race 7 LION QUEEN (2) led throughout to win the slowest heat but she had plenty in reserve and is the one to beat from this draw. XCEPTIONAL ARMA (3) faced the breeze when a close 2nd in her heat and should enjoy a nice run close to the speed tonight. WATER LOU (9) is undefeated and was the quickest heat winner so must be respected but she has a tough draw to overcome. TIGER STEVIE (1) was beaten 19.5 by LION QUEEN (2) on debut but draws to trail the favourite and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 2 3 9 1 Suggested Bet: LION QUEEN (2) to win. Race 8 LUCAPELO (3) won two on end before running a solid 4th fom the breeze against the older horses and appeals as the one to beat against his own age group here. ALL IS WELL (6) looked sharp at his return when a 2.5m 2nd to Skylord and can make his presence felt here. INSTA GATOR (1) led throughout for a comfortable win on debut and the rise in class is offset by his perfect draw. ROCKET CITY (8) ran 2nd to Never Ending in the Westbred Classic last time in and must be considered despite being first-up tonight without a trial. Tips: 3 6 1 8 Suggested Bet: ALL IS WELL (6) each way. Race 9 AUGUST MOON (3) has resumed with two impressive victories against similar fields and it is hard to make a case for her rivals turning the tables tonight. CABSAV (6) hasn’t appeared to be at her top at two starts back from a spell but would be the obvious danger if she can reproduce her best form. AMERICAN MONARCH (5) is suited by the small field and shouldn’t be far away. IMAHERO (2) ran a nice 3rd to AUGUST MOON (3) here last week and can be placed again. Tips: 3 6 5 2 Suggested Bet: AUGUST MOON (3) to win. Race 10 STEEL THE SHOW (1) has impressed in leading throughout to win his two starts since crossing the Tasman and is expected to bring up the hat-trick here. HENGHENG (2) trailed STEEL THE SHOW (1) when 2nd here last week and the same scenario looks likely. IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (4) has finished 2nd at his last three starts and looks a great place chance again. VULCAN STAR (5) led throughout in 1.54.8 at his last start but is likely to settle in the back half of the field here which will make it harder. Tips: 3 6 5 2 Suggested Bet: STEEL THE SHOW (1) to win. Race 11 CARRERA MACH (2) has a losing sequence of 12 but he has been placed in five of his last seven starts and he looks a good chance to break back into the winners’ circle tonight. MIDDLEPAGE (5) drops in class on his last start 3rd to Tenzing Bromac and is the obvious danger. STAR ARMBRO (1) is drawn to be prominent and should be thereabouts at the finish. EYE BETTER (3) should enjoy a nice run close to the speed and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 2 5 1 3 Suggested Bet: CARRERA MACH (2) to win. Market Market
