Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 6, 2022October 6, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 WONDERFUL TO FLY (9) won ten in a row before looking sluggish throughout when finishing at the tail as a $1.08 favourite at her last start. She hasn’t been seen in public since but is clearly the one to beat if that run is overlooked. IMTHEMIGHTYLUCY (10) has won three of her last four starts and will be dangerous if she sees daylight at the right time. ACHARNE GIRL (3) is first-up but is the best drawn of the main chances and can give some cheek. MONTANA GLORY (6) will strip fitter for her solid first-up 3rd from the breeze. Tips: 9 10 3 6 Suggested Bet: WONDERFUL TO FLY (9) to win. Race 2 VIVERE DAMORE (1) led throughout from this draw four starts back and indicated her fitness with a recent 20m Byford trial win and looks the one to beat. AMERICAN ARMA (2) was a narrows 2nd in quick time against a similar field at her last start and should be thereabouts again. BOORAA (12) faced the breeze when 3rd in that event and has the strength to overcome the backline draw. PUREST SILK (10) should enjoy a nice run on the pegs and can be placed at odds. Tips: 1 2 12 10 Suggested Bet: VIVERE DAMORE (1) to win. Race 3 THE CODE BREAKER (2) didn’t have much luck here first-up but should give a great sight from this draw tonight. FIREROCKFIREROLL (4) showed good gate speed in Victoria and must be respected at his first start in WA. PONTEVIVO (1) is drawn to be in the firing line and shouldn’t be far away. HILLVIEW BONDI (9) was a solid 2nd at his first run back from a spell but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 2 4 1 9 Suggested Bet: THE CODE BREAKER (2) to win. Race 4 FINVARRA (3) resumed from a spell with a solid first-up 2nd to MARKHAM EYRE (8). He will strip fitter for that effort and appeals as the one to beat after drawing inside his main rivals. EZANA (4) impressed in winning first-up victory and will give a great sight again. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (7) resumes here without a trial and may need the run but is a classy type and can’t be overlooked. MARKHAM EYRE (8) defeated FINVARRA (8) at his last start and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 3 4 7 8 Suggested Bet: FINVARRA (3) to win. Race 5 MAGNIFICENT STORM (1) resumes here without a trial but has won 23 of his 31 career starts and is clearly the one to beat. LAVRA JOE (4) has won four of his last six starts and can test the favourite with his race fitness. GAMBIT (10) is drawn to trail the favourite and looks a great place chance and could be a winning hope if they go too hard. JUMPINGJACKMAC (3) is likely to settle in a nice position and can be dangerous late if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 1 4 10 3 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (1) to win. Race 6 LUSAKA (10) was a solid all-the-way winner at his WA debut and then ran a strong 3rd in the Golden Slipper here last week and is the one to beat. DOURADO (3) started from an outside barrier and ran on well to finish 3rd to LUSAKA (10) at his last start and is better drawn tonight. ELWADDELL (1) led throughout from this draw in 1.56.2 and will give a great sight if he repeats that effort. SOHO FIRESTONE (2) wasn’t that far away when finishing midfield in the Golden Slipper and will appreciate the drop in class. Tips: 10 3 1 2 Suggested Bet: LUSAKA (10) to win. Race 7 THE MUSTANG (7) crosses the Nullabor with good form and indicated that he is in for a big campaign with a 1.55.2 trial win at Pinjarra. DOC HOLLIDAY (10) was placed in his first four runs back from a spell before being blocked for a run here last week. He will need some luck from this draw but can figure in the finish. THE KRAKEN (1) ran a nice 2nd at his last start and grows a leg when he is on the pegs. MASTER PUBLISHER (3) is back in form with a win and 3rd from his last two starts but goes up in class tonight. Tips: 7 10 1 3 Suggested Bet: THE MUSTANG (7) to win. Race 8 REGAL SCRIBE (11) endured a tough run when finishing at the rear last week but must be considered on his first-up 2nd to REBEL WITH A GRIN (8). TROOPINGOFTHECOLOUR (5) is a proven stand performer who has had a win and close 2nd at his last two starts and will give a great sight if he finds the front. REBEL WITH A GRIN (8) defeated a stronger field here two starts back and is always dangerous with the right run. LITTLE BITOF FUN (1) has been unplaced in both his runs from the stand but can play a part from the pole if he steps cleanly. Tips: 11 5 8 1 Suggested Bet: REGAL SCRIBE (11) each way. Race 9 STAMFORD (3) has been placed in both runs back from a spell and will strip fitter for those efforts. He has options at the start and appeals as the one to beat. DONT BOTHER ME NONE (6) was held up at a crucial stage when 3rd here last week. He is a classy type but is drawn outside his main rivals tonight. EUPHORIA (2) is never far away and is drawn to be prominent throughout here. MIRRAGON (1) looks the early leader and can give plenty of cheek but was slightly disappointing here last week. Tips: 3 6 2 1 Suggested Bet: STAMFORD (3) to win. Race 10 UNCONDITIONAL (3) has been placed at her last three starts and will be hard to beat if she can use her gate speed to cross at the start. BELLEZZA NERA (1) drops in class on his last start 7th to Rocknroll Elliot and must be considered from the pole draw. SEVEN NO TRUMPS (11) takes on older horses tonight but he has been racing in strong 3YO company and should be charging home. IDEAL WHITBY (12) overcame a similar draw to finish 3rd to High Price at his last start and can be in the money again. Tips: 3 1 11 12 Suggested Bet: UNCONDITIONAL (3) to win. Market Market
