Race 1

SWINGBAND (9) has won ten of his 16 race starts and resumed with a dominant win over THE MIKI TAKER (12) a fortnight ago. He is drawn wide tonight but can press forward and settle in front of his main rival and improve on his already impressive record. THE MIKI TAKER (12) was fancied to win that event but had to settle for 2nd and is the obvious danger tonight. MAUNGATAHI (1) is a rung below the two favourites but should be thereabouts from the pole. HOPPYS WAY (7) is racing well and can be placed if he can cross at the start.

Tips: 9 12 1 7

Suggested Bet: SWINGBAND (9) to win.

Race 2

JASPERVELLABEACH (1) has only been placed in one of his six starts this time in but did lead throughout the last time he drew the pole and should give a great sight tonight. EUPHORIA (10) extended his losing sequence to 19 here last week but the run was full of merit and she should fight out the finish again. SHADOW ROLL (6) is racing consistently and is always a chance if the race is run to suit. JOEY JAMES (5) has great gate speed and will give them something to catch if he can cross at the start.

Suggested Bet: EUPHORIA (10) each way.

Race 3

AL GUERRERO (2) sat behind PLUTONIUM (8) when 3rd to that pacer last week and can turn the tables if he finds the top tonight. PLUTONIUM (8) has impressed in winning both starts after a long lay-off and is the obvious danger despite the wide draw. ROCK ME OVER (1) wasn’t that far away when 4th behind the favoured pair here last week and can be placed from the pole. WHATABRO (6) looks to be back to his best and will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo.

Suggested Bet: AL GUERRERO (2) to win.

Race 4

EIGHTEEN CARAT (6) has impressed with consecutive all-the-way victories at this track and looks the one to beat again tonight. AMERICAN ARMA (11) won four of her last five starts before going for a break and will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. PLATINUM SPARKLE (7) is a very promising mare who looks up this company but has an awkward draw to overcome. SMOOTH RYE (2) will enjoy settling closer to the lead tonight and can play a part at odds.

Suggested Bet: EIGHTEEN CARAT (6) to win.

Race 5

FLAMETREE (1) won her last three starts before going for a break and resumed with a solid all-the-way victory in her heat. She is drawn perfectly here and is clearly the one to beat. ZEPHYRA (7) has a tough draw to overcome but has won three of her last four starts and was the most impressive heat winner. HUNT THE MAGIC (10) sat behind FLAMETREE (1) when 2nd in her heat and a similar scenario looks likely tonight. AMERICAN MONARCH (11) ran on well to finish 3rd in her heat and will be hitting the line strongly.

Suggested Bet: FLAMETREE (1) to win.

Race 6

LAVRA JOE (7) ran on well in a sit-sprint affair here last week but should be ready to be driven to his strengths and he will give a great sight. GAMBIT (1) couldn’t get into the race first-up but draws to lead tonight and will give them something to catch. DIEGO (5) will settle towards the rear but will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. WILL I ROCKNROLL (2) is likely to be on the leaders’ back and won’t be far away at good each way odds.

Suggested Bet: DIEGO (5) each way.

Race 7

POWER AND GRACE (5) has been unplaced in his four starts this time in but meets a weaker field tonight and appeals as the one to beat. TUAS DELIGHT (1) was placed from this draw two starts back against a similar field and should be thereabouts again. HOTFOOT IT (8) is drawn poorly but will appreciate the drop in class and he should be charging home. DISCO UNDER FIRE (4) has only been placed in two of his past 16 16 starts but has drawn to be prominent throughout here and can improve.

Tips: 5 1 8 4

Suggested Bet: POWER AND GRACE (5) to win.

Race 8

LORD ROSCO (5) has finished at the tail at his last five starts but has trialled nicely recently and will be hard to catch if he can cross at the start. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (4) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last three starts and looks one of the major players in this line-up. TRITTRITTBANGBANG (1) has been unplaced at his last nine starts but his latest efforts have had merit and he looks an improver from the pole. GOOD TIMES AHEAD (10) drops in class on his recent assignments and can be in the money at good each way odds.

Suggested Bet: LORD ROSCO (5) to win.

Race 9

MR FANTASTIC (7) was an impressive winner of the Higgins before finishing midfield in the San Simeon Classic. This is a huge drop in class and he is clearly the horse to beat. ILLAWONG MUSTANG (1) is drawn to get a nice run on the pegs and looks a great place chance. HENRIK LARSSON (5) is an inconsistent type but his best would see him fight out the finish here. SOUND WAVE (6) is racing consistently but has an awkward draw to overcome tonight.

Suggested Bet: MR FANTASTIC (7) to win.
