Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 9, 2021December 9, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MEDIEVAL MAN (2) is first-up after a six week break but drops in class and should give a great sight from this draw. BLUE BLAZER (1) led but over-raced when a solid 3rd in quick time here last week. He may sit tonight but should be thereabouts under either scenario. ALTA RHETT (3) has been placed at his past three starts and can figure here at each way odds. THEREUGO (6) can use his gate speed to cross at the start and will have options in the run. Tips: 2 1 3 6 Suggested Bet: ALTA RHETT (3) each way. Race 2 ROCK ME OVER (3) worked his way to the front when a solid 2nd here at his last start. He looks a good chance to find the top again and should give a great sight. SHADOW ROLL (5) has had six weeks between runs but looks a major player if anywhere near his top. THE WHITE RABBIT (11) is racing consistently and should get as nice run through from his trailing draw. FORSURE (12) has impressed with a win and a 2nd from his two WA starts and can figure. Tips: 3 5 11 12 Suggested Bet: ROCK ME OVER (3) to win. Race 3 JUMPINGJACKMAC (6) has been a beaten odds-on favourite at his last three starts but maps to getter a bet run in transit tonight and is clearly the one to beat. FINVARRA (7) has won seven of his 11 career starts and is again the obvious danger to his stablemate. STAR OF WILLOUGHBY (5) upset the favoured pair at his last start and must be considered again. MACHNIFICENT (8) has proven to be a rung below the main fancies but his last two wins have indicated that he has gone to a new level and he must be respected despite the barrier. Tips: 6 7 5 8 Suggested Bet: JUMPINGJACKMAC (6) to win. Race 4 CARRERA MACH (1) was first-up from a short break when 5th to Papinik. He will strip fitter for that run and has options from the pole. IM SOXY (2) has been racing in stronger company and been placed in three of his past four starts. He will be extremely hard to beat if he finds the top but is capable with a sit. MANNING (4) is racing extremely consistently and will be in the firing line throughout. MIRRAGON (7) couldn’t get into the race at his last start but can play a part with the right cart into the race. Tips: 1 2 4 7 Suggested Bet: CARRERA MACH (1) each way. Race 5 MAGNIFICENT STORM (3) has won 18 of his 20 career starts and is rightfully considered the state’s best pacer. He warmed up for this with a narrow but impressive trial victory and he is clearly the one to beat. BALCATHERINE (2) has been beaten but far from disgraced in her three runs this time in, all in mares’ company. She steps up in class tonight but will give a great sight from this draw. HURRICANE HARLEY (8) won as he liked last week but will find it harder from out here. MOTU PREMIER (1) can be placed at odds from the pole draw. Tips: 3 2 8 1 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (3) to win. Race 6 HEEZ OUR PERSEUS (1) was a game 2nd here in quick time after leading throughout at his previous start. He looks the leader again tonight and is clearly the one to beat. HENRIK LARSSON (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and should be right in the finish. HESASHARK (11) has shown plenty in his two starts since crossing the Nullabor and it won’t be too long before he brings up his first WA victory. BEAT CITY (6) followed a 2nd to Machnificent in 1.53.0 with a comfortable Narrogin win but is drawn awkwardly here. Tips: 1 10 11 6 Suggested Bet: HEEZ OUR PERSEUS (1) to win. Race 7 ALICE KAY (4) hasn’t had much luck at her two starts since returning from a break and will be hard to beat with any luck in running. ALTA CINDERELLA (5) was enormous when facing the breeze and battling on to finish 3rd in quick time last week and looms as a major player. SHEEZ OUR HOPE (3) couldn’t make up any ground in a 27.1 quarter at her last start but must be considered on her previous effort when winning at Pinjarra. SUING YOU (1) is somewhat inconsistent but a win from the pole draw wouldn’t surprise. Tips: 4 5 3 1 Suggested Bet: ALICE KAY (4) to win. Race 8 ARMA INDIE (1) has finished near the rear in all four starts this time in but has battled bad barriers in those events. She is drawn to lead tonight and should give a great sight. BILLY MACK (11) was a solid 5th here on Tuesday in stronger company and can make his presence felt. DOMINATE THE DOJO (10) has a long losing sequence but is drawn to be a good place chance. BLACK JACK ZAC (5) is always capable in this company if he can get the right cart into the race. Tips: 1 11 10 5 Suggested Bet: ARMA INDIE (1) to win. Race 9 PAPINIK (1) was an eye-catching first-up winner and should lead and win this event. BRACKEN SKY (2) will trail the favourite and looks a great chance to fill the quinella position. BOOM TIME (3) will sit three back on the pegs and will be hitting the line hard. VINCENZO PERUGGIA (4) is first-up for over a year and will struggle to beat home the three drawn inside him. Tips: 1 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: PAPINIK (1) to win. Race 10 FIVE BANGLES (2) couldn’t find the top at her last start when 4th to QUEENINTHECORNER (8) but can turn the tables on her stablemate if she can find the lead. IN THE SPOTLIGHT (6) started from a wide draw and finished strongly when narrowly beaten in that event and should be in the finish again. QUEENINTHECORNER (8) was a strong winner from the breeze against a similar field and must be respected again. CATCH THE RED EYE (1) battled on to finish 3rd in that event and can be placed again. Tips: 2 8 6 1 Suggested Bet: FIVE BANGLES (2) to win. Market Market
