Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 23, 2021September 23, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ALTA ENGEN (1) led throughout here in 1.56.5 four starts back and has performed well without winning at his subsequent runs. He takes on his biggest test to date but is drawn to lead and should give a great sight. BLUE BLAZER (2) battled on well when 4th to Magnificent Storm here last week and is drawn to trail the leader and can be dangerous. MIRACLE MOOSE (5) wasn’t far away when 8th in the same event and looks a major player. ALTA INTRIGUE (3) is racing well and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: ALTA ENGEN (1) to win. Race 2 FANCI A DANCE (1) has ran strong placings at his last two starts and appeals as the one to beat after coming up with the pole draw tonight. DOUBLE EXPRESSO (5) has won 12 of her 23 career starts and will strip fitter for her first run in 14 months when she ran a creditable 5th. BETTORSTARTDREAMING (4) is working back to his best form and is likely to be prominent throughout. MCARDLES GEM (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and shouldn’t be far away at the finish. Tips: 1 5 4 10 Suggested Bet: FANCI A DANCE (1) to win. Race 3 WALSH (2) is flying for his new stable, winning his last two starts impressively. He goes up in class but is well drawn and will give a great sight again. BABYFACE ADDA (1) is first-up without a trial but will be hard to beat from the pole if he is anywhere near his best. VESPA (3) was suited by the fast early tempo when overcoming a wide draw to win here last week and must be considered again. SHADOW ROLL (8) hasn’t missed a place in his five runs back from a spell but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 2 1 3 8 Suggested Bet: WALSH (2) to win. Race 4 ALTA LOUISA (5) has won four of her five starts this time in and is the one to beat after drawing inside her main rivals. STAR OF DIAMONDS (7) has finished 2nd at all three of his starts since a spell and should be right in the finish again. WAINUI CREEK (9) has won three of her last four starts, including a last start victory over STAR OF DIAMONDS (7), but has a tough draw to overcome. MANDY JOAN (8) is racing well and could be the value runner in this field. Tips: 5 7 9 8 Suggested Bet: MANDY JOAN (8) each way. Race 5 REGAL CHEVAL (1) was involved in a blistering lead time here last week and did well to finish less than 8m from the winner. He should lead without as much pressure tonight and should give a great sight. EUPHORIA (10) has finished 2nd at his last four starts and should be right in the finish again from his nice trailing draw. WITHOUTTHETUH (7) has been a beaten favourite at his two starts back from a spell but will strip fitter and has the class to overcome the wide draw. BE MY ROCK (12) goes up in class but has won his last two starts. Tips: 1 10 7 12 Suggested Bet: REGAL CHEVAL (1) to win. Race 6 BLETCHLEY PARK (1) raced well last time in, including a 1.52.4 all-the-way victory at this track. His trial indicated that he isn’t at his best and he would be better suited over a shorter trip but he should lead and prove hard to catch. THAT’S PERFECT (3) will appreciate not having to chase Magnificent Storm and should be right in the finish. PERFECT MAJOR (7) was ultra-impressive in winning his last start but is drawn poorly. ICEENOTHINK (2) is first-up but will enjoy a nice run behind the speed and can be placed. Tips: 1 3 7 2 Suggested Bet: BLETCHLEY PARK (1) to win. Race 7 DOUBLE UP (6) won his last five starts before a spell and has resumed with two more victories, the latest an impressive win over Howard Hughes. He has won all three goes at the stand and appeals as the one to beat. TYPHOON BANNER (7) has won three of his four starts this time in and looms as the main danger. LAWRENCE (11) disappointed at his first run back from a spell but is a classy customer and can improve sharply. HIT THE SKY (4) is a consistent stand performer and will be hitting the line strongly. Tips: 6 7 11 4 Suggested Bet: DOUBLE UP (6) to win. Race 8 LORD ROSCO (6) led when nailed on the line by Boom Time two starts back before facing the breeze and knocking up at his last start. He has very good gate speed and will be hard to catch if he finds the front. HENRIK LARSSON (10) has disappointed at his two runs back from a spell but is a talented type who can be given one more chance. VALBONNE (9) is the other class runner but has a tough draw to overcome. ADDA SPOILT MAJOR (2) has finished 2nd at his past three starts and the rise in class is offset by his nice draw. Tips: 6 10 9 2 Suggested Bet: LORD ROSCO (6) to win. Race 9 SWINGBAND (8) has won three of his four race starts and was ultra-impressive last week after settling at the tail of the field and doing all the work. This looks only slightly harder and he is clearly the one to beat. HIGH PRICE (1) ran a close-up 2nd in a recent Byford trial and has the barrier advantage over his main rivals. PAUL EDWARD (7) has been placed in seven of his ten career starts and should be thereabouts again. RAMBO RABBIT (6) was outclassed by SWINGBAND (8) here last week and it is hard to see him turning the tables. Tips: 8 1 7 6 Suggested Bet: SWINGBAND (8) to win. Race 10 ALWAYS AN ANGEL (8) has won ten of her 17 race starts and has resumed from a spell with two narrow but impressive victories from wide draws and is clearly the one to beat again. BOORAA (6) is the other class filly in the field and can improve on her first-up unplaced effort when she worked hard in the run. NEVERMINDTHECHAOS (4) has only had the three race starts but shows potential and can be thereabouts. CAPTAINS BEACHBABE (7) has proven to be up to this class but is drawn wide. Tips: 8 6 4 7 Suggested Bet: ALWAYS AN ANGEL (8) to win. Market Market
