Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 2, 2021September 2, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 PIERRE WHITBY (7) loves the longer trip and was a good winner here on Tuesday. This is only marginally stronger and he appeals as the one to beat. BEE SEVENTEEN (1) had no luck from this barrier last week but will be thereabouts if he can make the most of the pole draw. QUICK STRIDE (3) has finished towards the rear in his last five starts but will appreciate a big drop in class tonight. SOUTHERN BELLE (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 7 1 3 10 Suggested Bet: PIERRE WHITBY (7) to win. Race 2 EUPHORIA (4) faced the breeze when a strong 2nd here last week to maintain his consistent form and looks the one to beat in this line-up. WHATABRO (1) led throughout to defeat a weaker field here last week and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. AL GUERRERO (6) led and was nabbed on the line by Alta Intrigue at his last start and will give them something to catch if he can cross at the start. EXTREME PRINCE (2) led throughout in solid time at his last start and won’t be far away from his nice draw. Tips: 4 1 6 2 Suggested Bet: EUPHORIA (4) to win. Race 3 WONDERFUL TO FLY (5) led throughout to comfortably defeat a similar field at her last start and is clearly the one to beat again. WALL STREET GIRL (3) was a touch below her best last start but looks the main danger on her previous form. PAUL EDWARD (6) chased hard when 2nd in slick time at Pinjarra on Monday and will strip fitter for that effort. FOLLOW THE ARK (1) ran on well to be placed behind the favourite two starts back and won’t be far away from the pole. Tips: 5 3 6 1 Suggested Bet: WONDERFUL TO FLY (5) to win. Race 4 LORD ROSCO (4) will be fitter after two runs back from a spell and will give them something to catch if he can use his gate speed to cross at the start. MAJOR STARE (1) looks a major player if he leads or sits on LORD ROSCO (1) and should be in the finish. BOOM TIME (9) is racing well and will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. THE KRAKEN (7) is racing fairly and can bob up at big odds. Tips: 4 1 9 7 Suggested Bet: MAJOR STARE (1) each way. Race 5 OTIS (4) was an impressive first-up winner and looks the one to beat despite the speed map looking like he will be in the breeze tonight. POWERPLAY (1) led throughout in 1.56.0 in July and should lead here and is the obvious danger. BURGHLEY SHARD (3) and ROCKNROLL ELLIOT (2) were placed behind OTIS (4) at their last starts and should be thereabouts again from their nice draws. Tips: 4 1 3 2 Suggested Bet: ALTA LOUISA (12) each way. Race 6 DOUBLE UP (4) won his last five starts before going for a spell, including a strong win over Alta Intrigue. He resumes here without a trial but is clearly the one to beat. ANVIL ROLLOVER (1) has been placed in three of his last four starts and has the gate speed to make the most of the pole draw. MIDDLEPAGE (6) was a strong 2nd after facing the breeze at his last start and may take up the same position again tonight. HOTFOOT IT (7) has won his last four on end but he has a tough draw to overcome here. Tips: 4 1 6 7 Suggested Bet: DOUBLE UP (4) to win. Race 7 BLISSFULABBEY (1) has been racing consistently from bad barriers and gets her chance from the pole tonight. ALTA CINDERELLA (9) is the best mare in the field and has won her last three on end and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. MISS LAMARR (4) has been taking on stronger fields without much luck and should make her presence felt tonight. STORMYSKYES (2) has won her last two starts in easier company and can play a part from her nice barrier. Tips: 1 9 4 2 Suggested Bet: BLISSFULABBEY (1) to win. Race 8 MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) improved his career record to 15 wins from 17 starts when a comfortable all-the-way winner here at his last start. He is drawn outside his main rival tonight and will have his work cut out for him but he still appeals as the one to beat. MINSTREL (3) defeated MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) in the Golden Nugget and has resumed with five wins on the trot and is the obvious danger. IDEAL LINER (1) chased hard when placed from this draw two starts back and won’t be far away again. ALTA BLUES (5) steps up in class but has plenty of promise and can be thereabouts. Tips: 7 3 1 5 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) to win. Race 9 MIRACLE MOOSE (1) has been placed at both starts back from a spell in stronger fields and is clearly the one to beat in this line-up. FANCI A DANCE (2) was blocked for a run first-up but raced well last time in and has the gate speed to make things interesting in the early stages. BURNING RUBBER (10) rises in class considerably on his last start win but is drawn to get a nice run in transit. QUEEN SHENADOAH (12) wasn’t suited in the breeze at her last start but her previous form was very consistent and she will be charging home. Tips: 1 2 10 12 Suggested Bet: MIRACLE MOOSE (1) to win. Race 10 MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN (1) has led throughout to win both of his starts since crossing the Tasman. He has a good record from the stand and is clearly the one to beat. TRICKY RIC (3) meets MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN (1) 10m better off than when he finished a 3.7m 2nd to that trotter and is the obvious danger. MORTICIAN (5) and THE MALE MODEL (2) are both a fair way behind the top two chances in ability but their good manners will help their place chances. Tips: 1 2 6 7 Suggested Bet: MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN (1) to win. Market Market
