Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on September 2, 2021September 2, 2021 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 6 No.2 Swift Witness Upset some of the more fancied runners first up in the Silver Shadow and I can’t see any reason why she won’t prove hard to beat once again on an each-way basis. Trapped wide at times she showed plenty of grit and determination down the straight to hold off the closers and will only strip fitter tomorrow. She maps well and looking back through her form her only sub-par performances were in the Magic Millions (excuses) and the Golden Slipper (wide gate/outclassed). She’s a very honest type who can run well again tomorrow. RACE 7 No.2 Dreamforce Plenty of excitement around this race and it all centres on the one runner. That of course is Zaaki who is being touted as the next star of Australian racing and that may well be the case. Tomorrow however he’s first up over the unsuitable 1400m trip and won’t be wound up as there are bigger fish to fry during the spring. That makes him vulnerable and gives this 9yo sprinter his chance to cause the upset as his second up record is terrific having won this race last year at the same stage of his prep. If unable to match Zaaki he should still run a place which makes him a ‘bet to nothing’ each-way. RACE 8 No.13 She’s Ideel Not really sure the inside draw is a help or a hindrance however going to take the punt on her getting through the pack in the straight. Her first up run was a cracker zipping home from a clear last to get within 0.3 lengths of the dual Group 1 winner Mo’unga in the Winx here a fortnight back. Additional trip definitely in her favour and if within striking distance in the straight look out! Best Bet Race 5 No.1 Nature Strip Quaddie 1, 2 13, 2, 1 13, 16, 10, 11 13, 11 Market Market
