Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 27, 2021May 27, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ALTA BLUES (1) has won six of his 13 career starts and displays plenty of ability. He wasn’t disgraced when a close-up 6th at his first run back from a break and is clearly the one to be beat but his gate speed is the concern from this draw. ALTA INTRIGUE (10) has returned from a six-month break with a win and nice 4th and looks the main danger to his stablemate. CAVEMAN (7) chased hard when 2nd to Jumpingjackmac here last week and should be charging home again. CLASSIC CHOICE (3) would give them something to catch if he can find the front. Tips: 1 10 7 3 Suggested Bet: ALTA BLUES (1) to win. Race 2 AL GUERRERO (4) didn’t get into the race at his first start back from a spell but can be driven forward tonight and appeals as the one to beat. THEREUGO (3) has the speed to cross early and has the option to hold up or take a sit and should be thereabouts under either scenario. EUPHORIC MOMENT (1) is likely to be crossed at the start but will enjoy a nice run and is racing consistently. VESPA (10) is always dangerous off a soft trip and he will be hitting the line strongly. Tips: 4 3 1 10 Suggested Bet: EUPHORIC MOMENT (1) each way. Race 3 LAWRENCE (1) wasn’t suited in the breeze here last week but his previous form was extremely consistent and he should prove very hard to beat from the pole tonight. MANNING (2) has won two of his last four starts and shouldn’t be far away from his nice draw. NOTA BENE DENARIO (5) has been placed in six of his seven WA starts and should be thereabouts again. BEE SEVENTEEN (10) has only been placed in one of his four starts this time in but can be in the money from his nice trailing draw. Tips: 1 2 5 10 Suggested Bet: LAWRENCE (1) to win. Race 4 PERFECT MAJOR (5) has won three of his four starts back from a break and was a brave 1.53.5 winner from the breeze at his last start. He has an awkward draw to overcome but has race fitness on his side. CHICAGO BULL (9) was below his best at his first run back from a spell but will be fitter for that effort and his record speaks for itself. MAJOR TIMES (2) had a chequered run when 4th here last week and would give a great sight if he found the top. BALCATHERINE (6) was a nice first-up 2nd and will be dangerous with the right run. Tips: 5 9 2 6 Suggested Bet: PERFECT MAJOR (5) each way. Race 5 TAKING THE MIKI (2) followed a 1.54.2 victory here with an effortless 14m heat win and is clearly the one to beat from her nice barrier. IN THE SPOTLIGHT (12) has faced the breeze to win his two race starts and looks to have plenty of ability. EAGLE ROYALTY (11) ran 2nd to the favourite two starts back before finishing a solid 3rd in her heat and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. SOVRANA (3) has brilliant gate speed and will give them something to chase if she can cross at the start. Tips: 2 12 11 3 Suggested Bet: TAKING THE MIKI (2) to win. Race 6 GIVE US A WAVE (7) has finished midfield in stronger company at his last two starts and will appreciate the easier company tonight. MISS BOUDICA (3) has been placed in nine of her ten career starts and is the best drawn of the main chances. AUSSIE SCOOTER (8) will appreciate not having to chase Lavra Joe here and looks the other main winning chance. BETTORS DESTROYA (5) has only missed a placed once in her eight career starts and can be in the money again. Tips: 7 3 8 5 Suggested Bet: GIVE US A WAVE (7) to win. Race 7 BORN TO BOOGIE (1) could not have more impressive at her WA debut when she sprinted home in 26.6 to defeat Louie The Horse. She draws the pole tonight and will be extremely hard to beat if she can hold up at the start. HEAVENS SHOWGIRL (9) has won five of her seven starts this time in and looks the main danger but has a tough draw to overcome. SAVVY BROMAC (7) disappointed at her last start but was ultra-consistent before that and must be considered. LEAP OF FAITH (5) is always dangerous with the right trip. Tips: 1 9 7 5 Suggested Bet: BORN TO BOOGIE (1) to win. Race 8 MACHS GOLD (2) is first-up tonight but indicated he is in for a good campaign with a 29m Byford trial victory and looks the one to beat from his nice draw. PIERRE WHITBY (6) ran a nice 2nd here on Tuesday and will be hitting the line hard. ARMA INDIE (10) was a solid 6th at her first run back from a break and drops in class for this assignment. BETTYS LASS (3) has the gate speed to make things interesting early and should be thereabouts if she can find the pegs. Tips: 2 6 10 3 Suggested Bet: MACHS GOLD (2) to win. Race 9 PATRONUS STAR (1) ran 3rd in the Golden Nugget at his last start and is clearly the one to beat despite being first-up without a trial. DIEGO (2) has won three of his last five starts and should sit on the favourite and is the main danger. BOOM TIME (3) was a strong all-the-way winner here last week and looks a great place chance. SIR GALAHAD (5) impressed when winning at his second start back from a break and should be charging home. Tips: 1 2 3 5 Suggested Bet: PATRONUS STAR (1) to win. Market Market
