More will be expected from striker Jordyn Huitema as the Canadians try to unlock a stubborn Irish defence. Vera Pauw’s Ireland performed admirably against hosts Australia but have no points to show for their efforts. There have been calls for 18-year-old Abbie Larkin to feature more prominently in an attacking approach, while key defender Louise Quinn has been on light duties at training this week. Ireland’s issue is scoring goals, but they will have massive support behind them in Perth.
