Shortte’s Handful for Saturday’s Cannington Greyhounds Posted on March 24, 2016 | Posted by David Shortte David Shortte’s Preview Race 1 No. 1 TRUSTED Box one bandit who has had five tries from this draw for four wins and a placing. Recent form reads ordinary on paper but the four unplaced runs have been from boxes 5 and 6 and the only time he was drawn down near the rail was four runs ago when he was runner up over the 509 metres at Northam in a solid 29.83. Drawn to perfection and can improve sharply here. Race 8 No. 2 JED MONELLI Delivered one of the quickest wins of all time at Mandurah over the 647 metres last start when leading throughout to bolt in by nearly 8 lengths in a sizzling 36.58. Showed no signs of stopping in that performance which would suggest the 715 metres should pose minimal problems. Seven of his thirteen career victories have come from boxes one and two so this draw looks perfect. Blinkers On and Heaps Of Ability are likely to be charging at him late but if he can reproduce his most recent effort is clearly the one to beat. Race 9 No. 6 DUBLINER Quality bitch who has put together a great record in her career to date winning 10 of her 18 starts with a further 5 placings. Came from a middle draw last time out when leading throughout over the 647 metres in a slick 36.92. Has won 2 of her 3 starts from box six in the past and while she is having her first look here so are the rest of the field so she is at no disadvantage. Knows how to win and can continue that trend in this lineup.
