Chris Nelson’s Doomben Rundown Posted on March 24, 2016March 24, 2016 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 1 No.6 Lady Athena Kathy Stabe trained filly who represents good value tomorrow. Narrowly beaten against the older horses two starts back at the Gold Coast before making a long wide run last time out at the same track making solid steady ground all the way to the line. In a race where there are a few suspect at running the 2020m trip right out this one won’t have any concerns. Looks good each-way value. RACE 2 No.1 Sir Moments Extremely classy galloper from the Steven O’dea stable who resumed with a terrific effort at the Gold Coast flashing home to beat all bar the winner a fortnight back. He’s being aimed at much richer assignments down the track however can still run well in the small field here suited by the step up in distance. He’ll be very hard to hold out late. RACE 8 No.5 Heart Smart Another one from the O’dea stable who just might have found the right race tomorrow. He races best when fresh which is certainly the case having not raced for 4 weeks, there’s plenty of speed engaged in this race tomorrow and from his inside gate he can park off those leaders early on. With some daylight in the straight he’ll be charging at them late and is another who appeals strongly on an each-way basis.
