Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on May 12, 2026May 12, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MORF enjoyed a solid campaign when last in work including finishing second on a Saturday at Ascot splitting Western Ace and Major Flirt before breaking his maiden with an all the way win at 1400m. Luke Fernie’s last two winners: Desert Whisper (first-up, no trial), Paint It Red (first-up, no trial), having also done the same with Dancewithme and Slip The Jab in months prior – so the formula is working and he should slide across into a prominent position at an eachway price. SASSY SNIPPET ran fourth on debut behind Quokka Rocka and subsequent winners Xentaro and Jimmy Angel. Lands a great spot and should get every chance. GUARANTOR got the gun run at Northam and took advantage. Can go on with it now. TRUE FICTION ran well fresh. Numbers: 5 – 9 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – MORF EACHWAY RACE 2 IS THIS THING ON made her debut in a 1000m maiden off the back of a strong 1.5L trial win. She was ultimately no match for Anaconda Jones or Barron Bill but given the massive effort of Anaconda Jones on the weekend in a deep 2 year old Saturday event and the experience/fitness she would have derived this looks a winnable race for her from the box seat. SHES A SPLITER got out to 30-1 at her return to racing after gaining a start as E1 and just missed in a driving finish. Consignment and Vinny Nay both progressed to the WA Sires and she was as good a run as that pair. UNTAMED STARE was luckless on debut and Summer Dickson’s fresh horses have been flying for months. Big watch. IZA BAY had an awkward looking action but her trial was hard to miss as she hit top gear and pulled away late. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 7 – 12 Suggested Bet – IN THIS THING ON WIN RACE 3 MY DANNY BOY was no match for Bassett Hound first-up when beaten a near 4L margin, however, it was another 2.5L back to third in a high speed, high pressure contest. That should put him in good stead for this second-up assignment and both of the races he has contested so far in his career have been extremely high rating affairs. Can’t draw a gate to save himself but he’s got tactical speed to offset the draw and if he can cross to the fence he’ll be hard to run down. BOOKENDS has had a lot of trials (8 in total, across three preparations for two different stables) and finally steps out on debut. She will concede them a head start but does look a handy bread and butter filly who will win races. JAZZ ME BABY and SKYHIGH JOURNEY were both chasing from a fair way out in their recent barrier trial but both ran through the line impressively late. Numbers: 5 – 14 – 13 – 10 Suggested Bet – MY DANNY BOY WIN RACE 4 LEG GODT was wide and working throughout behind Solar Chant and Northam maiden quinella Jolson Al and Guarantor on debut. Far better drawn here to park up close handy and enjoy a far more economical passage this time around. Could sneak under the radar in early markets and this does look a much thinner race for her second-up. DIAMOND WARRIOR has run two placings in his short career to date: splitting In Confidence and Hollar Nuff in a 1200m maiden at Pinjarra and finishing second to Peaceful Ruler in a 1300m maiden at Northam. Those two runs are good enough to win, the four runs either side of those placings are not. Trial was alright but worth remembering the winner of the trial was beaten 6.5L at Kalgoorlie on Sunday. BESTON STREET looked bigger and stronger this time around. MAUREEN’S ANGEL has looked quite good at trials. Numbers: 14 – 3 – 5 – 16 Suggested Bet – LEG GODT EACHWAY RACE 5 ARIZONA SKY finished third to Zourun Run and subsequent Lex Piper Stakes winner The Crimson Pirate on debut, finished second to now Saturday winner Spellborn first-up and last time out finished third to Midnight Star (now a C1 winner) and King of the Town. Blinkers on first time, Pike back aboard for the first time in the prep and looks the one on paper. UNIVERSAL TALK should be able to roll the top here and gets 1.5kg of weight relief with the Natika Riordan claim. Stays out of trouble and should hold a decent tactical advantage over the favourite. ROYAL TALK similarly will park up over the top of the speed and kept trying behind Shimmery Star at Northam last time out. LORD MOMO ran third at his Fiore debut to Godless Storm in a very (very) slowly run race. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 12 – 1 Suggested Bet – ARIZONA SKY WIN RACE 6 ARTISTRY IN MOTION was an easing even money favourite first-up at 1400m and could only manage a grinding third behind Playing Quest and Jazalot. He meets Jazalot 1.5kg worse at the weights here but a senior rider goes on and so does a set of blinkers for the first time. Expect that Jarrad Noske will be aggressive early in an attempt to cross them and if he can find the fence we might see a different horse second-up. JAZALOT has been a model of consistency over recent months and was 46 days between outings last start in the key form reference race. BONDI STAR led last start and really appreciated it. Can either lead again or box seat on the back of Artistry In Motion. PRINCE EPAULETTE was crunched in betting last start but never got warm. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – ARTISTRY IN MOTION WIN RACE 7 VANDOULA JET and HURRICANE HARLEY both drop out of a 3 year old 62+ into a 0MWLY to take on the older horses. VANDOULA JET loomed the winner on straightening but couldn’t quite go on with it, being beaten under 2L behind Split The Gee, Snitzalatte, Riva Aquarama and Testy Pharoah. Looks a great form race for this, looks a great map with the option to park just behind Saturday Sesh and Vomo Island and from there expect she’ll go close. HURRICANE HARLEY endured a horror passage in that event and was entitled to fade out of it. His previous win in a C3 1200 at Ascot was dominant and he’s another lightly raced horse with more upside than the majority of his rivals. MOHEGAN RULER trialled super? Was going as well (if not better) than highly talented stablemate Elite Beau on the line and usually puts in a ripper fresh. Big watch. SATURDAY SESH is back to 1200m and that might be a wise move given how hard he’s pulling. Numbers: 12 – 7 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – VANDOULA JET WIN RACE 8 DARK AMBITION sat wide throughout to break his maiden in a C1 1300 at Belmont before finishing 5.5L behind them in the Lex Piper Stakes to The Crimson Pirate and subsequent JC Roberts winner Aberdeen Flyer. On a two month freshen dropping out of Listed company and drawn to get a nice run midfield with cover at an eachway price. PRINCE OF DALA was afforded no favours on debut when parked three deep the trip without any cover at any stage. He was a strong win all things considered and powered clear from rivals late to win by a length on the line. Rises 2.5kg into a C1 and again is drawn to do it tough but it was hard to not be impressed? TAKE A LEAF didn’t beat a runner home first-up but still wasn’t disgraced in a winner producing race. ALCABEEL’s best two runs of his career have both been fresh. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 12 – 5 Suggested Bet – DARK AMBITION EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,6,7,12 1,4,6 7,9,12 2,3,12 Market Market
