Scott Embry’s Thursday York Preview Posted on May 22, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ALIMENTARIA should bounce straight to the front and in a race without a deal of exposed speed or form she will be the one to run down. I WONDER was backed as if unbeatable last start, relentless support even at the shorts. Did a lot wrong and will jump short again here. TRACE SEA is yet to place from over 10 starts but showed glimpses early days. KRAKKAS has been going alright since they stepped him over ground. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – ALIMENTARIA WIN Race 2 RAMRUEY was ridden hard in a recent trial and fully extended but it took a pretty sharp one in Black Sabbath to run him down. This is a nice return assignment and form last campaign was strong enough. GET THE VIBE put in an uncharacteristic shocker last start. Worth forgiving, she can bounce straight back. THERE AT FIVE was good at York two starts ago. MR UNDERCOVER is likely to open short for a horse who is racing well below his best. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – RAMRUEY EACHWAY Race 3 MISS QUOTED has put in two good runs this preparation, both down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra and both efforts were strong. Naturally races off the speed but if she can get going and build momentum she looks very capable of winning. I’M PRETTY was set alight last start by Azzopardi over 1400m. Dropping back in trip is an interesting move. SASSATIONAL will put the speed on. MUMSTHEONE was beaten a long way last start but the three horses in front all have above average ability. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – MISS QUOTED EACHWAY Race 4 LIL’ RED BIKINI sat outside of I’m Icey last start and they kicked well away from the rest of the field. Debut run down the 1000m straight was luckless. Hill should take luck out of the equation by leading and is hard to run down. SCHIMMEL either holds him out or takes the box seat run and either way should be competitive. MICHELLE MA BELLE has trialed well for a return to the track. GALAGA impressed at most recent trial. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – LIL’ RED BIKINI WIN Race 5 MUSKEBELLO will get off them and today may not be the day but looks a capable type who can hit the line hard. Not a deep race and a win wouldn’t surprise. MAGIC EMPIRE is ultra consistent but has been finding one or two better than him at every outing this prep. THE LAST BREEZE was 100-1 on debut and finished off well enough to compete here. DELECTABLE DOLLY continues to get in under the radar with solid midfield performances in tougher races. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – MUSKEBELLO EACHWAY Race 6 HIGH TEA seems to appreciate the York track. Has run second at all three attempts in the region and from the gate Edwards will need to make a decisive decision early, roll forward or settle back. Is versatile and can win from either position. THREESUN has hit a rich vein of form. Interesting to see where she ends up from the gate early. STARTHEFRIAR won effortlessly first-up in a similar race to this. SCANDAL MAKER was good enough first-up. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – HIGH TEA EACHWAY Race 7 CARRANYA LASS looked unsuited down the 1000m straight when coming down the center. There is reasonable speed here and she should be able to hold up leader’s back. From there if she gets a crack at them should be in the finish. GUNFLINT held the Northam 1100m track record for around an hour after his first-up win. The horses who finished second and third have both broken their maiden in style. MISSING PRO is undefeated and after the important scratching of Citichant should clear them out and lead. CHENERY RED trialed well before being thrown in the deep end first-up. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – CARRANYA LASS EACHWAY Race 8 SATIRIC has had a luckless preparation. Last start to the eye was enormous when taking off wide from the 1200m and making a sustained run at them. Should get it far softer here and looks a nice assignment. WE’LL MEET AGAIN has been right in the finish all preparation and deserves to pinch one. EVERYMILE A MEMORY has not come back the same mare this season. Needs to improve. TORTINA goes round week in, week out and goes well for McNaught. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – SATIRIC WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 5,6,8,9,11 1,3,4 4,7,8 1,2,4,5,7,9 Market Market
