He steps from 1500 out to 2000m for the first time but he’s a son of So You Think who has always given the indication in his races that he’s simply looking for further. This is a very thin staying maiden and it would be no surprise to see him improve sharply. SOCIAL IMPACT, PRIDE OF TUSCANY, LA CARTIER and MOON DOG all raced against each other last start in the maiden won by Mucho Bene. There was only 1L between them and they were all whacking away late. At least Asarka won out of that race at Narrogin. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – DEEP THINKER EACHWAY RACE 2 TRIPLE JAY is an extremely well related son of Street Boss who has been gelded since his first preparation and trialled particularly well at Lark Hill recently. Dan & Ben Pearce’s team are firing on all cylinders (Last 90 days 25 winners from 124 starters at 20% Strike Rate and 11% POT) and they engage the services of William Pike. Looks to have some upside. UNCLE GERARD loomed large first-up but couldn’t quite reel in Climb On Top. That now looks like excellent form with Climb On Top carrying 60kg to win a C1 on Sunday at Northam. MAKES THE CUT has had a month between runs and was solid on debut behind Pollash and Chinobrown. IT’S A LOVE STORY is quick and can lead this. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRIPLE JAY WIN RACE 3 THE RUSH put in a ripper at his return to racing when finishing 3L off King’s Sicario and subsequent maiden winners She’s Imminent and Under Influence before being beaten a breath by Late Vintage. That race was run 2L faster than maiden average and should put her in good stead to break through here. Slightly awkward draw but is versatile. OUTFIELD has a senior rider back aboard and comes through a race behind After Party and Military Power which is expected to hold up as a form reference. HEAVENLY LADY chased hard behind stablemate Imperialize on debut. LAND OF FIRE continues to race well. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – THE RUSH WIN RACE 4 FIRST ENCOUNTER put the writing on the wall on debut. Nobody will have missed that debut performance, weaving through heavy traffic in the home straight and charging at them to finish 4th beaten under 2L. Should The Rush get the job done in Race 3 it will stand out and she looks far better suited second-up at 1400m. Looks exciting. SANTA BRAE had genuine excuses last start when sitting four wide without cover throughout. Huge job to still beat half the field home. Won’t be a maiden long either. ALL FUN and ROCKIN’ THE SILKS will round out a popular first four. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – FIRST ENCOUNTER WIN RACE 5 ROCK THIS TOWN, CITY OF SIN, MAGNALEE, MAGNUM CLASS and RAKIURA are all straight 1000m winners which adds a bit of depth and intrigue to this race. ROCK THIS TOWN is very quick and expect that Jarrad Noske will come out positive in an attempt to find the outside fence. If he can cross those drawn to his outside and find that coveted outside rail he might just be too quick for them. MAGNALEE is first-up no trial and went close on multiple occasions last preparation. Could have a far better record and looks the testing material. MAGNUM CLASS won well on debut and then was fair behind Ultimate Command. CITY OF SIN goes well fresh and down the straight course. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – ROCK THIS TOWN WIN RACE 6 KEEP ATTACKING has no doubt had this race on the program all campaign, with a view to qualifying for the 1400m $100,000 final at Belmont Park in 2.5 weeks time. That trial form behind undefeated filly Rear Admiral is going to be become popular and he’s a horse with some ability and upside. Nice starting point for him. RUMOUR SAYS is dropping out of two 3 year old 62+ handicaps into an all age C5. Looks like excellent placement and from the draw she should park midfield and wind up into the race. Hard to hold out. BLOW ME OUT comes back from 66+ grade into a C5 and ran really well behind Kosta’s Crown last start fresh. HIBISCUS LADY went back first-up and worked home nicely. Can lead this. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – KEEP ATTACKING WIN RACE 7 MAKTASTIC has had six starts in WA and run three minor placings (to Fine Touch, to Another Chino and to Wicked Fox & Kia Ora Jewel). This 50+ open handicap race looks far and away the weakest he has seen since arriving and Chris Parnham sticks. This is a race without any real speed either so he could well roll forwards and park over the speed. Best chance yet in the State. BLUE CARD wasn’t too bad last start behind National Guard. This is easier. THE ROAN RANGER is his own worst enemy, however, this is winnable for him. SPECIAL IMAGE is only 1 from 41 but is actually racing quite well. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – MAKTASTIC WIN RACE 8 FRIAR THE GUN has put in two solid runs from rearward positions so far this preparation. She’s come back to racing well and in an even event he looks one of a few winning chances. She’s quite versatile and in another staying race without much genuine tempo she could be the one to make a mid-race move around them. CYWER was scratched on 20 April with a hoof abscess. Now 27 days between runs, up to 2000m for the first time, has weight and a sticky draw. Few things against her but she’s the class runner. MUCHO BENE has proved that he can stay. This is tougher, but not a lot tougher. LUCKY HEART is better than last start. Forgive and forget. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – FRIAR THE GUN EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,4,5 2,4,5,6,7 1,2,4,7,8 1,2,5,6,7 Market Market
